Fancy the boyos to cover. Howley looks to be getting things together, with two wins on the bounce and the second being a quite controlled display in fairly difficult conditions. Gethin is a loss, just as it looked as if he was getting back to his best, but James has been doing well at Bath this season, and AWJ return will certainly bolster the pack. Actually think it's a clever move bringing back Warburton without the captaincy, as I don't think Tipuric shone against the Italians.

I agree with you MB, but my enthusiasm is tempered by the fact that the form book often goes out the window in international rugby. It's amazing what a couple of wins can do. Wales are a streaky team who play best when confidence is up and that losing streak is all but fogotten now, with focus being on winning the championship!

It's hard to see where Scotland are going to get posession from. They dominated the set piece against Ireland, but still only had around 20% of the ball. I don't expect Wales' to suffer as much at the set piece as Ireland did. Ireland's lineout was so bad the last day that it's hard to see that being Wales' achilles heel, as is often the case. AWJ returning is huge in that sense, while Roberts and Davies must be frothing at the mouth given how easily Ireland went up the middle last weekend. Overall, I think they have more cutting edge in the backline than Ireland and should win this by around 10.

Think you are right in that if we do get the ball Ireland did, our backs will make them pay.

I'm wondering a little about Joubert. Possible bias from me but I don't think he does us many favours, and unless we have clear dominance in the scrum it could be a lottery.

Try as I might, I can't think about this in terms of anything other than the number of points Ireland bombed a fortnight ago.

Happy to get as much 5/1 Wales -16.5 as I can.

I get sucked into backing Scotland a lot, then realise that they are very good at competing but not winning. 2 victories (and 2 competent wingers!) sends that idea into difficulties somewhat, but there's no doubt that Ireland should have gone miles clear last week (and that this Wales team SHOULD be better than them).

If Scott and Lamont wander around looking confused again in the first half Wales should scoot clear though. Can't miss tackles on this lot.

Srichaphan or Ancic?

Strange that Scotland +16.5 is 1.2s but Wales +8.5 is 1.1s.

Wales -5.5 at nearly evens should give you a good run for your money. Expecting Roberts & Davies to be battering down the middle and will be backing first try scorer as such.

Im on Scotland +16.5, how many times have Wales won by that much in Scotland? A couple of times out of about 50 attempts?

"risky one" is an always used comment for a long lineout on your line.  Logically it makes a lot of sense most of the time.

Oh dear. DG attempt under adv. What a waste of space.

True about the line-out Vis. When is a line-out on your 5 yard line not risky? Front, back or otherwise. May as well make use of the laws.
By:

When: 09 Mar 13 14:49
Generally if you are in a Welsh shirt it makes complete sense to make the lineout as uncompetitive as possible so ball over the top on the 5 yard line is a great call Laugh
