From a betting viewpoint this new season has been a damp squib.

SL itself is pretty boring, with the big 4 clubs settling down to sort out the league amongst themselves, not there is any great kudos to winning it, as Leeds well know. With no relegation the other end of the table fixtures are just meaningless and pointless unless you happen to support one of the clubs (and even then it is a moot point). There is very little craft and guile to be seen, the game really does seem to have degenerated into 13 super fit and very large men charging into each other for 5 sets, then someone kicking from hand badly.
Champo is going the same way, although at least there is the prospect of some proper fixtures to avoid relegation at the bottom end, but the whole thing is severely tainted by the Dual Registration farce, which so far the RFL has washed its hands of.

I'm pretty disheartened by what is happening in RL, and the prospect of a World Cup with a 1/3 fav and 150/1 bar 3 does not exactly excite either.

That makes two of us vickersa1 a lot of the skill and guile has been lost from the game.

Hard to fault them as athletes but I miss the old number 6,7, and 13 play makers.

quite agree vickersa, bring back proper scrums and characters will develope. kicking on six just a yawn now. i'd rather go back to having the odd massive prop, who maybe couldn't do a 2 min mile. and the skinny lads at 3,4,6 but could play with a bit of guile. not in the gym all day.

14 clubs and no relegation really has killed off vast amounts of interest in SL.

I think I could handle one or the other, but both facts makes it a very frustrating comp. I still enjoy it, but in patches really as so much is pointless dross.

Death of the RL forum? Doesn't help when Betfair don't even advertise RL on their main page. Snooker, Basketball, Ice Hockey, Politics and Specials are more important apparently.
