I'm on Wasps and am just about as confident as I can be in a game involving them and a Rabo side. I don't like the look of the Dragons tight five whereas the Wasps locks look bombproof and they have a nice blend in the back row. Davies and Robinson at 9 & 10 are the worry, but if they get an armchair ride then there is plenty of firepower outside them. I also prefer the look of the Wasps bench and am surprised this is only 6 or 7 point cap.
Report Monstrous Bryan January 17, 2013 7:33 PM GMT
Yep, I am Dr, meant leaving the cap alone. For anyone liking a tryscorer bet possibly worth noting that Varndell is up against the non-tackling Will Harries (with the non-tackling Prydie in behind)
Report Isotonic. January 17, 2013 7:34 PM GMT
Best of luck with your bets lads. Have had a monkey on Higgins at evens in the snooker too after he lost the first frame so hopefully a good night
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 7:36 PM GMT
Ah right bryan..quite fancy the over as well here
Report Isotonic. January 17, 2013 7:39 PM GMT
Lol Bryan. Quite like Harries going forward (ever since he Tovey and himself  terrorised Munster on a saturday night 3/4 years back) but defence is indeed suspect.
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 7:39 PM GMT
not at odds on though!
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 7:45 PM GMT
Wasps to take this and probably cover for me.

Too cold for me to be involved in overs which is a shame as these two could probably get it over at the North Pole
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 7:45 PM GMT
layed overs at 1.84..crazy price
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 7:46 PM GMT
lol theres that pen in the 1st min again
Report Isotonic. January 17, 2013 7:49 PM GMT
Come on Wasps early score
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 7:49 PM GMT
somebody got the colours wrong?  Shocked
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 7:57 PM GMT
Not the most auspicious start from Davies. Wasps lineout in the 22 and he throws a skip pass half the width of the pitch to the centres 10 yards behind the gainline.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 7:58 PM GMT
That really is rubbish Dragons, it's an advantage in the 22. Don't take a frigging drop goal, what does it achieve?
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:03 PM GMT
Very unlucky, Masi. A 22 is no real reward for your efforts in the scenario.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:04 PM GMT
Robinson came closer with his drop than Evans did from further out and without wasting an advantage.

When's this game start then?
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:06 PM GMT
Hmmm.... bit of a head of steam up, killed instantly.

3-3
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:09 PM GMT
He has to give the tackled man the chance to release, ref....
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:10 PM GMT
If this was Lacey instead of Mitrea we would be up to 16 pens by now.
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 8:11 PM GMT
This is like a game from when the ELVs first came in.  Kick, kick, kick.  Getting us in the mood for SL I guess Laugh
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 8:13 PM GMT
looked miles forward that!
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:13 PM GMT
Ok well we're clearly not playing rucks by the rulebook. In from the side and kicks it out but the ref waves play on.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:13 PM GMT
Was just going to say that unders is a dead duck and then that happened.

Looks to me like every ruck is going to be a complete mess with hands in everywhere. Might be a game where it's better not to have the ball, score from turnovers.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:16 PM GMT
10-6 after 30
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 8:17 PM GMT

Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:21 PM GMT
Well I did mention the Robinson shocker being a problem.......
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:21 PM GMT
Is it just me or does Robinson seem to hit the post more than any other kicker in the game? He rarely slots the ball betweeen them, that's for sure.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:23 PM GMT
I dont think I'm as confident as the TMO there. Masi's left hand might still have been on it, really tough to see.
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 8:23 PM GMT
may as well just award the pen try now save time
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:23 PM GMT
How on earth is that only a turnover scrum?! There was nobody left on the Dragons side!
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:24 PM GMT
I agree Dunc, Robinson hits the post about 5 times per game.

Refs are getting very quick with penalty tries these days.
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:25 PM GMT
Ref ends up costing the Dragons 7 instead of 3, though I suspect they would've gone for the pushover.
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 8:26 PM GMT
17 points in 10mins..ridiculous
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:26 PM GMT
I think it might come from the top, not just refs coming up with these decisions alone. Plenty of refs suddenly giving pen-tries after 1 penalty now rather than wasting time re-setting and re-setting again.

I think it's positive, although I would still like to see certainty, because I really don't want to see other refs following Rolland's lead and just randomly giving 7pts to any team in the 22 that gets stopped.
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:27 PM GMT
It's one of the better developments in the game that they are. We've been wasting far too much time on teams collapsing scrums as soon as the opposition gets any sort of a nudge on. It stops the clock being wound down and acts as a good deterrent. If you don't try to stay on your feet or if you're unable to, it'll probably cost you 7 points.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:30 PM GMT
Could go down as one of the daftest pens ever given away.

13-13 HT

Prydie hit that appallingly and it still went through. He should teach Robinson how it's done.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:33 PM GMT
I wish Luke Pearce had heard about this trend in the Welsh v Sarries game earlier this season. Sarries dropped the scrum instantly and he blew for full time Sad

Dragons to collapse in the second half? Wouldn't be the first time.
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 8:35 PM GMT
fkin pricks spreading 2 quid around the points markets hiding the money
Report Monstrous Bryan January 17, 2013 8:38 PM GMT

Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:38 PM GMT
I've never understood why anyone does that.
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 8:38 PM GMT
Doc is that the over 41.5 market or the rather cunningly positioned over 42.5 market?  Sad
Report Dr.Cypionate January 17, 2013 8:40 PM GMT
Over 42.5 vis
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:41 PM GMT
A frustrating end to that half and just like Wasps to screw it up after getting their noses in front. I still fancy them to come out comfortable winners, but it's a bit more up in the air than it should be. Robinson has to start getting the scoreboard ticking over.
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 8:43 PM GMT
Scrum dominance still gets them over for me but Drags have competed well on TV now for second week running.
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:47 PM GMT
Robinson really is a bag of shyte. Retreating backwards for the third phase running and he still keps ball in hand giving his centres no chance.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:47 PM GMT
How the hell was that a pen? Faletau doesn't release, has his hands on the ground, gets pushed off, but wins a pen. Baffling.
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:49 PM GMT
Wtf was that from Varndell? Lucky boy, that was a clear cut pen.

Shyte restart from Robinson, get him off!
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:50 PM GMT
When you've got Stephen Jones on the bench it is frustrating to watch Robinson duff everything. One of the most frustrating players around.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:52 PM GMT
Good God!
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:52 PM GMT
That's taking the p!ss now
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:52 PM GMT
What does Robinson actually have, bar a fizzing miss pass that he overplays?
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 8:53 PM GMT
Every time I have a bet on a match involving Wasps, Robinson seems to end up costing my money.
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 8:53 PM GMT

This is a truly pathetic effort from Wasps. Wake up Young ffs and get Jones on.
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 8:59 PM GMT
Thankfully they are kicking for the corner this time!
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 9:01 PM GMT
Good man Mitrea, that's bumped him up a few notches in my view. Not any one of 3 players released Launchbury there.
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 9:02 PM GMT
varndell got ½ the pitch to himself over there
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 9:03 PM GMT
Blimey, seemed like Robinson had an hour to get that one down. He's done something right at last.

And got injured.......

Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 9:05 PM GMT
I've seen him have some cracking games to be fair, but when he is bad he is really, really bad and his kicking percentage has always been low.

Bloody hell, that one was harsh.

Well at least Daly's kick was straight. Wonder why he doesn't take all of them?
Report ray12 January 17, 2013 9:11 PM GMT
difficult to believe wasps win is crucial to them    there seems no oomph
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 9:18 PM GMT
Drags still in this  -  big assumption in the odds that Wasps will win but still a one score game
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 9:18 PM GMT
The amount of ball Wasps has turned over is hard to believe.

Wade has plenty of talen and is lightning quick, but he needs to learn how to pass.

How on earth was that not a pen for a careless tackle though?!
Report Barksdalefamilybusiness January 17, 2013 9:18 PM GMT
went over the horizontal
Report big_dunc January 17, 2013 9:19 PM GMT
How often do kicks sail straight over the head of Southwell at full back? His positioning is dreadful.
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 9:21 PM GMT
ffs not again

this is ridiculous
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 9:21 PM GMT
Due to the weirdnesses of this comp it might actually be better to be the worst qualifier from the pools.

Home game against possibly Leinster, Toulouse or Northampton awaits the 2nd, 3rd and 4th seeds. 5th qualifier gets an away game at Bath. I know which I would prefer.......
Report TheVis January 17, 2013 9:24 PM GMT
this could be about 32-32 if both teams had a kicker

What the fook was that from Southwell on halfway? He didn't even land a finger on him. All he had to do was stop Evans cutting inside as they was cover outside, but that proved too difficult.

very contentious call at the end.  was clearly 6 seconds remaining as the ball went out.  he hadn't called last play.  dragons line-out, drive to sticks, drop goal, win ?
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 9:52 PM GMT
Doesn't the line-out have to be formed though? Otherwise time can run down. Not sure really, but it's come up a few times over the years including a Italy v Wales game about 5 years ago.
Report hulk23 January 17, 2013 9:57 PM GMT
so you could kick the ball out with a minute remaining and take a VERY leisurely stroll down the park.  by the time you get there it's game over ?
Report RugbyMan January 17, 2013 10:00 PM GMT
no because there are limits on how long you can take and it might be that if one team is formed up then that counts.

IRB site should have it all. Will look it up at some point.
Report hulk23 January 17, 2013 10:06 PM GMT
think the italy wales game was slightly different in that the ref told them there was time for the lineout, then watched them kick the ball out before saying he was only kidding and blew for full time ...
