I'm on Wasps and am just about as confident as I can be in a game involving them and a Rabo side. I don't like the look of the Dragons tight five whereas the Wasps locks look bombproof and they have a nice blend in the back row. Davies and Robinson at 9 & 10 are the worry, but if they get an armchair ride then there is plenty of firepower outside them. I also prefer the look of the Wasps bench and am surprised this is only 6 or 7 point cap.
Yep, I am Dr, meant leaving the cap alone. For anyone liking a tryscorer bet possibly worth noting that Varndell is up against the non-tackling Will Harries (with the non-tackling Prydie in behind)

Not the most auspicious start from Davies. Wasps lineout in the 22 and he throws a skip pass half the width of the pitch to the centres 10 yards behind the gainline.
That really is rubbish Dragons, it's an advantage in the 22. Don't take a frigging drop goal, what does it achieve?
Very unlucky, Masi. A 22 is no real reward for your efforts in the scenario.
Robinson came closer with his drop than Evans did from further out and without wasting an advantage.

Well I did mention the Robinson shocker being a problem.......
Is it just me or does Robinson seem to hit the post more than any other kicker in the game? He rarely slots the ball betweeen them, that's for sure.
I dont think I'm as confident as the TMO there. Masi's left hand might still have been on it, really tough to see.

Ref ends up costing the Dragons 7 instead of 3, though I suspect they would've gone for the pushover.
I think it might come from the top, not just refs coming up with these decisions alone. Plenty of refs suddenly giving pen-tries after 1 penalty now rather than wasting time re-setting and re-setting again.
I think it's positive, although I would still like to see certainty, because I really don't want to see other refs following Rolland's lead and just randomly giving 7pts to any team in the 22 that gets stopped.

It's one of the better developments in the game that they are. We've been wasting far too much time on teams collapsing scrums as soon as the opposition gets any sort of a nudge on. It stops the clock being wound down and acts as a good deterrent. If you don't try to stay on your feet or if you're unable to, it'll probably cost you 7 points.
Could go down as one of the daftest pens ever given away.

I wish Luke Pearce had heard about this trend in the Welsh v Sarries game earlier this season. Sarries dropped the scrum instantly and he blew for full time

A frustrating end to that half and just like Wasps to screw it up after getting their noses in front. I still fancy them to come out comfortable winners, but it's a bit more up in the air than it should be. Robinson has to start getting the scoreboard ticking over.
Scrum dominance still gets them over for me but Drags have competed well on TV now for second week running.

When you've got Stephen Jones on the bench it is frustrating to watch Robinson duff everything. One of the most frustrating players around.

Every time I have a bet on a match involving Wasps, Robinson seems to end up costing my money.

Due to the weirdnesses of this comp it might actually be better to be the worst qualifier from the pools.

because i switched to overs after 50mins

very contentious call at the end. was clearly 6 seconds remaining as the ball went out. he hadn't called last play. dragons line-out, drive to sticks, drop goal, win ?
Doesn't the line-out have to be formed though? Otherwise time can run down. Not sure really, but it's come up a few times over the years including a Italy v Wales game about 5 years ago.
so you could kick the ball out with a minute remaining and take a VERY leisurely stroll down the park. by the time you get there it's game over ?
no because there are limits on how long you can take and it might be that if one team is formed up then that counts.

think the italy wales game was slightly different in that the ref told them there was time for the lineout, then watched them kick the ball out before saying he was only kidding and blew for full time ...
