Currently listings for the first couple of weeks are encouraging in that Friday am (UK Time) games are scheduled for Sky Sports 4.  This would be a welcome addition for live betting and also for those that want to record the matches.

However, I suspect we still will see most of these just being streamed on the website instead so as not to class with Aerobics Oz Style and the like.  The website is miles behind live so is useless for betting.

Can anybody confirm that there is a change in policy and Sky are going to show more games on proper channels?

if it dares to interfear with the oz style aerobics there is going to be trouble.

Friday morning games would be a good addition to the schedule. I take it Sky won't be putting a bid in for the available UKs right to the NRL if they've still got Super15?

Well I guess it will still be on Premier Sports, though of course in the old days Sky would show both.  As long as NRL is still watchable live via bookies' sites I will be happy enough.

Good to see next week's Fri opener is on a proper sky channel as listed.

Looks like Friday mornings will be a useful addition to the rugby betting weekend.

The rumor is that the new BT Sports channel has UK rights to the NRL. Hopefully it's still on the bookmakers feed. Can't do with them 10 seconds delay on tv.

oh no that would be really bad news if true Ldee.  Having streaming from the books these last couple of seasons has been excellent.
Report Ldee February 8, 2013 12:58 PM GMT
Don't see why it just won't be a split deal with games still been on the bookies site. BT Sports in not supposed to be going live till June time, so that's one long wait to see any NRL.

Looks like Premier Sports have maintained rights to the NRL for the next 5 years. Also have rights to SOO and the GF. Hopefully it's the same as before with bookies streaming the quicker feeds.

No streaming via bookies website as part of new deal for NRL on PremierSports.

Oh not that is a nightmare Cry

Its only £2 a week! Loads better watching on a TV than a laptop anyways.
Report TheVis February 28, 2013 5:20 PM GMT
Pics are so slow though and it may only be £2 a week but I get fed up forking out for different subs as the waters get muddier with different suppliers.  Would be much better if this was all just on Sky.  Sure the average rugby fan would be happier too, or ideally if no rugby was on Sky I'd drop it in a flash as all we are doing is subsidising the extortionate footie product which I never watch.

No bookies streams has more or less killed my betting on it. Just hoping Premier Sports feed is as bit quicker than last year. At times it was ten seconds behind the streams.

Could be the same for me too as somebody will have access to great pics somewhere and will be at a huge adv this year given how useless Premier are
Report charlatan March 1, 2013 9:45 AM GMT
maybe we should al add them on facebook and keep complaining about how slow their feeds are
Report charlatan March 1, 2013 10:12 AM GMT
i've found for the last couple of years that because our rural internet is so slow i can only use the streams alongside the tv pics so i can tell when the streams have got behind and restart them. but i signed backup for prem sports yesterday (mainly for the gaa which is much more profitable for me than rugby league) and made a tenner on the batley game inbetween prem darts games which paid for the first two months (and they had waived their connection fee). however the gaa feed is also slow. helps if you can get it on the radio too.....
Report RugbyMan March 1, 2013 10:14 AM GMT
I've done that with some games before where I've been watching the TV on mute, while listening to the radio which is 10 seconds ahead. Very confusing at times, but stops you getting caught out.

Just had a quick look to check and 365 have all the NRL games listed for this week, so there appears to be life in the bookie feeds Laugh

Having Thurs night games is also a good addition to the rugby betting week as least for the first few rounds of the comp.

That is good news vis, PS must off been doing a bit of fudging in the advertising to get people sign up. I see the first game on Thursday morning is advertised as delayed....you don't say!
Report Ldee March 5, 2013 1:27 AM GMT
It looks to me that Premier Sports have now edited their advert. No mention of it not been streamed on the bookies sites and no mention of Origin rights!
