Sorry, Murray it was with the shyte kick.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:03 AM BST
How easy was that? Smith could only switch it back, yet Ireland apparently didn't realise.

Ah, it was Earls. Explains all.
Report Isotonic. • June 9, 2012 9:04 AM BST
Sexton great for Leinster. ****eeee for Ireland
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:05 AM BST
Poor poor tackling from Fitzpatrick and particularly O'Brien. Just can't do that against NZ.
Report Isotonic. • June 9, 2012 9:05 AM BST
forward to Savea there imo
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:06 AM BST
a lot or ireland players are hands on knees already..... fitness issues already ffs
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:06 AM BST
I'd prefer to cut out the error at source and it was the nothing kick from Murray that led to the try.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:08 AM BST
There's always going to be times when you have to stop the NZ backs though and taking the wrong man is really going to give you problems.

Murray has been dire so far though.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:08 AM BST
take the pts
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:09 AM BST
It's game over if Ireland don't get points here.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:09 AM BST
Noooooo wrong call, guess sexton dinny think he could land it from the sideline..

Great pass Murray to BOD
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:10 AM BST
& there yer go, shoulda been 16/06 take some pace outta the game, reset & rebuild again.
Report TheVis • June 9, 2012 9:10 AM BST
hmmm that is such a typical passage of play over the years.

No way through as usual for the NH team and then the ABs shoot right up the other end and almost score.
Report Oh no!! not another Villa fan • June 9, 2012 9:11 AM BST
Men against boys, Ireland are going to get battered in 2nd half, Only the idiot Owens is keeping them in the game.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:11 AM BST
How good is Carter's line there on the turnover?

I know it's simple, but that's why he is sooo good. So many players would crab across because they want to run the length, but Carter keeps straight, draws men and gives his outside players acres of space.
Report ABJ • June 9, 2012 9:12 AM BST
wrong way NZ that time
Report Oh no!! not another Villa fan • June 9, 2012 9:12 AM BST
DUMB from N/Z, Need to go wide.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:14 AM BST

Report Oh no!! not another Villa fan • June 9, 2012 9:14 AM BST
TRY.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:14 AM BST
That's a try. Awful defence.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:14 AM BST
defoo try, tacklers far tooooo high
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:14 AM BST
McFadden involved again there. Just standing in the middle of nowhere.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:15 AM BST
Tackling has never been Kearney's strong suit.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:15 AM BST
I used to love watching Cullen and Wilson in previous years. I think Israel Dagg is making his way towards that category.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:16 AM BST
At least make them put it through the hands. Just awful.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:16 AM BST
some signs of promise from ireland but not too surprising a scoreline so far, play the ab's & you have to play 100%, 100% of the time. one or two poor passes/kicks & one or two missed/poor tackles & it's 23/03 from nowhere
Report ABJ • June 9, 2012 9:18 AM BST
Dagg blew that
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:18 AM BST
How did Dagg blow that?
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:18 AM BST
Alright, no idea why Dagg did that. Dopey sod. Got a few quid on him to score as well Sad
Report ABJ • June 9, 2012 9:18 AM BST
lucky escape there
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:19 AM BST
Dagg is falliable then, butcheredddddd that try. Laugh

2 tests to go, reckon they'll have warmed up by then?
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:20 AM BST
NZ have always been ruthless when they get a lead so it's important not to give them any soft scores and Conor Murray gave them at least 13 easy points in that half. BOD has been absolute muck too.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:20 AM BST
Yet again a great club season equals zero at international level. I don't think there is a more disappointing international team than Ireland. This is a proper beating. Just annoyed that I didn't go with my gut and back NZ. What the hell is the cap going to be for the next game?
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:21 AM BST
Is Peter O'Mahony on the pitch?
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:23 AM BST
playing Earls at 12 gives the opponent an inumerate amount of pts no matter who plays around him. stick him on the feckin wing or bring on from the bench.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:29 AM BST
That was a legitimate question about POM. I can't recall seeing him on the pitch and don't remember his name being mentioned once.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:30 AM BST
There's a shot of him at the start of second half. Looking bollixed.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:30 AM BST
another disappointment is why didnt sexton take the shot on & get us to 16/06?? maybe playing in the blue hides his poor kicking for gl in crux/must make situations, cant be doing it in green.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:31 AM BST
To be fair, playing at 6 you are still possibly doing your job if you aren't that obvious, al la Richard Hill.

I saw him once though. Not a great sign.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:32 AM BST
Ha RM! I thought someone might give me that reply!
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:33 AM BST
its a big step up, plain n simple, it's the way to find out there true mettle & he'll learn more taking a hiding for 80mins then jus being with the squad on tour for exp.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:33 AM BST
Aren't you supposed to be slowing down oppo ball if that's the case?

BOD with another air pass.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:34 AM BST
That is just pathetic.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:34 AM BST
feck me, dinny think of backing him for a hattrick, what happened there?
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:34 AM BST
Bloody hell, backed a bunch of NZ backs to score tries and it's just Savea running everything in. I wish Dagg was more selfish!!
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:35 AM BST
Carter's timing is utterly magnificent.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:35 AM BST
kearney should kept goin once he bit 7 trust the inside support instead of gettign in the way.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:36 AM BST
Can't blame Earls for that one, he actually made his tackle. Kearney and Zebo running round in circles this time.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:36 AM BST
How's that not a knock on?
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:37 AM BST
Quinlan thinks Kearney has been really good tonight.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:40 AM BST
Kearney is just pathetic. He actually backed out of that tackle on Savea.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:40 AM BST
Healey has been pretty good again, as has Rory Best and Heaslip has had his moments. Other than that it's hard to talk up any Irish players.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:40 AM BST
And then he misses touch.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 9:41 AM BST
wd besty & a pass from some unsung hero....
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:43 AM BST
Rare error from Carter. Not too much of a problem when you start making mistakes at 30-3 though
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:43 AM BST
Any chance of a 3-0 Ireland from here Laugh
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:44 AM BST
Never got that down did he?
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:45 AM BST
Not a chance. Great play BOD.
Report Isotonic. • June 9, 2012 9:46 AM BST
Owens wrong there had to be advantage over. He was nearly over the fooking line. Knock on and scrum Ireland ya plank
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:47 AM BST
Not sure Iso, could have saved a try by cheating. Don't offend and you don't get penalised.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:48 AM BST
By the letter of the law did Smith not tackle Ryan on the ground? It was his momentum that took Ryan back over the line.
Report Isotonic. • June 9, 2012 9:49 AM BST
Surely though if you have chance to score a try thats advantage over, i.e. get chance to put ball down. Plus the pull back didnt look much or he would have given a yellow, no matter now anyway
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:51 AM BST
Watched it back and Ireland should have had a pen for Smith's tackle.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:51 AM BST
You'd think Kidney would bring Reddan on but instead we get ROG Cry
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:52 AM BST
Possibly Dunc. I think it revolves around whether Smith was going for the ball or just flops down.

Iso - Read had a run to the line anyway, had Zebo not pulled SBW back he would have had a run to the line with a player on his shoulder. Could claim advantage over, but there really should be some sort of sanction if you prevent a better chance for a try.

Question is what is Zebo doing facing the wrong way after a number 8 has shot past him?
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 9:56 AM BST
That was Healy who got back to make that tackle on an outside back! Unbelievable for a prop.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 9:57 AM BST
Yes, as I said earlier Healy and Best have been very noticeable. Two very consistent players these days.

Not really being backed up by others though.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 10:03 AM BST
Mmm... Loughney an international?
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 10:04 AM BST
Would have been interesting to see how Fitzpatrick got on if Murray ever put the ball in. Didn't look to be in much trouble at all to me.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 10:06 AM BST
Hard to say with how few scrums actually went the distance, but he seemed to be doing fine.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 10:08 AM BST
Is Ross back for the next game?

If Healey misses out as well it's a real mess of a front-row for Ireland.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 10:10 AM BST
25 points down, 8 mins to, possession 25 metres out. And we get a fooking box kick!!
Report Oh no!! not another Villa fan • June 9, 2012 10:10 AM BST
Can't belive that overs in danger of not coming in here.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 10:11 AM BST
I can't believe only one of this NZ backline have scored. Going to have to start backing hat-tricks.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 10:11 AM BST

Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 10:13 AM BST
So many things giving me a headache. I was spread thin on my bets for small stakes. Had Smith & Dagg to score and overs. The Ireland loss on the cap I can handle, but I'm cratching my head as to how none will come in.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 10:13 AM BST
Blatant pull back on Smith
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 10:14 AM BST
That's ridiculous. Has to be a yellow card for Ireland for the pull back. How can you justify just a pen for a clean break that is killed outright???
Report Knutter • June 9, 2012 10:14 AM BST
how is that not a yellow
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 10:14 AM BST

Carter probably left thinking "if I were 10 years younger"...
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 10:22 AM BST
Well, that was a no contest from about the 12th minute.

Crap from Ireland, but that was a pretty slick NZ performance to be fair and the fact that the young players had the likes of McCaw, Read and Carter there to help them bed in must have been massive.
Report big_dunc • June 9, 2012 10:24 AM BST
I thought they might be a bit rusty and that the new caps might need a game to bed in. Not so, sick of hearing this crap that the scoreline was harsh on Ireland.
Report RugbyMan • June 9, 2012 10:27 AM BST
Aye, not harsh at all. Got a walloping because they were beaten in all areas. Not exactly the first team to suffer that at Eden Park though.
Report furrelli • June 9, 2012 10:48 AM BST
