Welcome, EmmaLove.  Some of the chaps on here are a bit shy but I am sure that they will introduce themselves in time.

When can we expect your next preview??

Hmmmm is this fact or like me did she think it was at the RDS?

Wouldn't knock her for that, Vis.  The following tweet from today is of some concern;

Overall this all seems too convenient.

I reckon RugbyMan got fed up with the failed blogging attempts and in this age of twitter realised nobody was interested in a balding ex stand-off of little note who was approaching middle age.

Hence, nick a photo from the reader's wives section of Nuts, invent an Irish persona and Bob's Your ICBD.

RugbyMan may well have been cultivating this cover for some time. 22,000 tweets worth of back story.  He is nothing if not thorough.

Sooner or later he will crack and a rant at a refeee will slip out.

It's true, I am actually Mrs Rugbyman, how did you all know?! ;) and I think it's the Vis that quoted me to say very few teams come to the Aviva and leave vistoriously, no I did mean the Aviva and not the RDS, in terms of Leinster I actually don't think they have lost one match that they played at the Aviva, although I could be wrong :)

Welcome Emma Love

How do you feel about Wayne Barnes's appointment as Ref for the Clermont SF?  Will you be travelling to Bordeaux and do you require a gentleman escort for the trip?
Report Emma_Jane27 April 17, 2012 7:41 PM BST
I'm impartial to him as long as he does his job right! I'm unfortunately not travelling as I've work commitments but if Leinster make the final there will be no stopping me!! You can be my escort then lol :)

As for the buffet thing, despite the penthouse my crowd is not big on sushi.  We prefer the traditional Northern variety of the buffet, comprising assorted pies, chips and a lovely gravy boat dripping from between the bussoms down to the belly button.  Heavenly.

Emma-Jane, do you know Jane Warner?
Report itcanbedone April 18, 2012 6:45 PM BST
Emma Jane is quite possibly the first genuine, kosher, top-totty to have ever graced a betfair forum.  She is here at my invitation, so please treat her with respect and kindness.

Vis's invitation for a man-gravy bukkaka style get-together is, no doubt, well-intentioned, though perhaps premature.

Emma, pleased to hear on twitter that you had a massage earlier, excellent for removing the toxins that may have contributed to you feeling under the weather recently.  I hope you are polishing your preview for our delectation tomorrow.
Report Emma_Jane27 April 18, 2012 7:16 PM BST

Report TheVis April 19, 2012 9:40 AM BST
How can a serious betting preview be done a) before we know teams b) before any lines are out?

This game smacks of one to avoid pre-match massively.  Both have their biggest games the week after.  Leinster have nothing to play for and Ulster not have their eye on the ball either.

This is too obvious a wind-up now.  Come on Rugbyman you can do better than this.

Any tips on a betting site should be made to the main markets, in this case the main handicap.

But if betfair want articles before the bookies have set the markets they will have to settle for rough guesses (which seems to me to be not what they should be looking for at all). Hamstringing their writers at the moment. Don't really see why they cant wait another 12 hours at least. Are people queueing up to read these things on a thursday?

Getting a win here by 8 is probably a better tip than saying Leinster would beat Cardiff by 10 or more. If you think Leinster win this by 10 you certainly would have backed the -2 that was around, therefore happy at the end of the night.
Report itcanbedone April 20, 2012 9:21 PM BST
I backed them outright but Emma may have seduced many into backing on the alternative handicap.  10's was around 2/1+ I think.

Did you write these things formerly RM and is Emma your replacement?
Report RugbyMan April 20, 2012 9:25 PM BST
I've written a few, for both codes, although not under my own name. I don't like the restrictions that having to send them in early involves. If you don't know the teams or the odds how the hell do you do an accurate betting preview?

One writer relies entirely on stats, another just makes things up because he has not a clue about the sport. Hardly inspiring.
Report Emma_Jane27 April 20, 2012 9:25 PM BST

Report TheVis April 20, 2012 9:50 PM BST
ICBD you claimed last week not to live in Ireland due to tax reasons - make your mind up.

Emma I am not angry - just pointing out that you didn't tip a winner.  But then neither did I as I was laying Lesinter 1.21 and 1.15 at 0-0 and 0-7 which seemed a good price even given their dominance.

As RM says these blog deadline are ridiculous. Hardly anybody bets on rugby as it is and the bookies will not bring lines out for domestic leagues unitl max 24 hours before the game so as far as I am concerned a preview that goes up on the day of the match when teams and lines can be digested is fine.

We do live in a world where deadlines can be effectively shortened as all that is required is a monkey to update a web page.  Hardly priting press type issues are they?

Anyway good luck with your tip of Leinster to win next week. Love

lol thats ok,I dont know how you combine work with this, cant be easy, yeah going to be difficult to win in France, personally think Clermont might nick it,they have an excellent squad and have been doing a lot of rotating lately to keep players fresh, last wk only Brock James of the team that beat Saracens played and they still won, they won again last night, their back line is on a par with Leinster's as is the pack nearly,if the match was in Dublin,Leinster would most likely win.D'Arcy and BoD are certainly going to have their hands full with Fofana and Rougerie.
