any of the french props at 1 and 3 given that they pulverised Scotland in the second half
Report RugbyMan February 27, 2012 1:24 PM GMT
Mike Ross was good, but so were Mas and Cole. Finding a loose head prop who stood out is difficult though.

Give it to Tom "ten minutes" Court for his first international try!

Have to have Halfpenny at Full Back
Report big_dunc February 27, 2012 5:00 PM GMT
Halfpenny at 15 on what basis? I'd go with Medard and would have Kearney ahead of him too.

Can't have Dusatoir. Thought he had one of his poorer matches. Ferris at 6, Warburton at 7 and Denton at 8 with Rennie unfortunate to miss out.

Sexton didn't do anything wrong, but it has to be Farrell at 10. Seriously impressive debut.

France's lineout was poor and largely contributed to Scotland's early pressure in the first half so I can't have Szarzewski. No stand-out candidate so give it to the debutant Owens. I can't recall Wales' lineout being a shambles and that alone is arguably reason enough.

15 Medard
14 North
13 Tuilagi
12 Fofana
11 Hogg
10 Farrell
9 Dickson

1 Poux
2 Owens
3 Ross
4 Botha
5 O'Connell
6 Ferris
7 Warburton
8 Denton

Yeah, thought Owens was good alright.  Ross Ford also had a good game.

cant be having North in there after week 3 performance, Tommy Bowe or Andrew Trimble for me, even Strettle would have a bttr shout than North.

thaught tommy bowe had excellent game

Trimble was brutal.  Can't time a pass to save his life.
Report big_dunc February 27, 2012 7:24 PM GMT
Bowe fumbled a sublime offload from Ferris with the tryline gaping and his two tries were walk-ins. I can't remember him contributing much else. It would appear that Trimble is the new Geordan Murphy for Ireland in that he can't transfer his club form to the international stage.

bowe looked only threat 4 ireland at all

Agree about Bowe big dunc, didnt create a thing. According to Scrum V Gethin Jenkins made 12 tackles, missed none, more than any of the English forwards. Definitely in at loosehead for me.
Report big_dunc February 27, 2012 7:45 PM GMT
Yes Gethin Jenkins had a very good game. I need to watch the games back, but the set piece was solid and I recall him being good at the breakdown.

Ian Evans had his best game in a Welsh Jersey
Report rubyisgodinthesaddle February 27, 2012 8:30 PM GMT
Jenkins at Loose and Mas at Tighthead. Mas did a remarkable job considering he the comic clown Dimitri Swarkosky crystal beside him. Once the best hooker in the World came on it showed how much of a beast Mas still is in the scrum.
