This thread is an classic example of why I won't post on here any more (this one, obv excepted).

BF ought to get a grip.

FWIW it was a fortuitous win, and thr Saes played really well.

But will take it.

1976 reprised I suspect (without JPR's GBH on the French winger...)

After a good opening 20 minutes from Wales(which they weren't actually rewarded for),I thought it was a very average display from the Welsh. They certainly have a long way to go before being the finished product.
I thought England upped their performance today, and should feel unlucky not to take anything from the game.

You people ought to get with Soccer supporters and get "whinging about officials' decisions" promoted to an Olympic sport.  You CHOOMS would be unbeatable.

A thread almost as biased DICKHEAD JOHN INVERDALE....

Wales played England off the pich for 25 minutes...it was embarassing...they switched off never got going again and despite this and 10 mins with 14 men beat England....

WALES WON...

ENGLAND LOST

STRETTLE DID NOT GROUND THE BALL.....Brian Moore,Lawrence Dallaglio were man enough to admit that.....

Disagree WW....clear try for me.  No book talking, I've been on Wales from the off, and backed them today too.

grim....theres no way they could have given that try....there was no conclusive evidence he had grounded it over the line

they came up with a different camera angle after the match was over.

It was a try.

George North knew - he looked like a boy who'd been caught with his hand in the sweet jar.

I thought a draw would have been a fair result - same as Scotland v England.

you win some you lose some.

Wales had their share of bad luck in the RWC.

When will people realise that you can only play as well as the opposition lets you?!?  England played very well and slowed Welsh ball down in the rucks (illegally on many occasions).  This meant the Welsh backs didn't have much go forward ball and allowed the English blitz defence to be very effective.  For those saying Steve Walsh helped Wales, you need to look at a recording of the rucks.

I think you'll find Wales slowed down their fair share of ball aswell, sealed by flopping and defencive line was often offside ....

walsh certainnly gave everything to wales yellow card for 1/2 metre offside porthcawl for pulling warburton down in the lineout which could have broken his neckAngry

Eh? So because 1 team played better for 1/4 of the game and weren't good enough to press home the advatage at any point (and looked 2nd best for most of it) in the rest of the game they deserve to win? Def try and some baffling ref decisions at the end gave the game to Wales. Don't forget this was supposed to be 1 of the best Welsh teams for a while against 1 of the worst English!

marky sparky - very valid point - England broke the rules over and over again in the rucks......should have had considerable periods with 14 men or less...

England THE FACT REMAINS have SCORED 2 x CHARGEDOWN tries in 3 games and their only ambition seems to be to stop the Opposition from playing....

For the first 25 minutes and last 15 minutes Wales played ball to hand and obliterated England....in the middle 30 minutes of the game Wales played too muck kicking Rugby it was as if England dragged them down to their level...

With 2-3 exceptions this Welsh side is VERY inexperienced...and it showed....

England will have to IMPROVE dramatically to beat Ireland or France on this showing

MAYBE actually trying to score rather than merely slow the game down and ruin it would help!

Wales obliterated Eng so much in those first 15 mins that I was laying 1.40 with the board still showing 0-0.

I'd happily do that all season long.

willy

you only break the rules in the rucks if the ref says so, every back row player in the world plays to that law-every open side plays to "offside is what the ref says it is" law

George North should not have been involved in the final tackle as he should have been binned for the professional foul committed mins earlier

as for dragging Wales down to their level you may have noticed by now that England and Scotland are not as "bad" as many people would have you believe, just as France and Wales(yet)are as "brilliant" as some think

Wales have also had the luxury of near perfect conditions in their 3 games which has helped their attacking game plan, and since the Rolland WC decision they have had the rub of the green in the important decisions to feather out their results

It was not a try, it wasnt grounded, and those who matter agree with me, and anyway if it had been grounded the chances of u kicking that from there for the tie with farrell off is slim, just accept u were beaten by a poorly performing team who had 14 men for 10 mins and you still cant beat us.

poorly performing team my arse, i thought it was a great game of rugby, in fact brutal at times, with both teams playing at full tilt

Sewter, if you think that was wales at full tilt you need to get out more, we played well for the 1st 15 and last 14, the bit in the middle we were woefull.

had you thought that perhaps England might have had something to do with that?

It's probably because you thought that Wales were going to win easily that you have come up with the idea that Wales must have played badly not that you were wrong and/or England actually played well

I was at the Scotland match and until Cusiter fell asleep just after half time Wales were struggling to deal with them at times-it was only when they were down to 13 that Wales stuck it on them
