De Luca is rubbish so no surprise he finally gets dropped, but what sort of midfield is Morrison and Lamont?
By:
A bish bosh one. Defeats the purpose of playing Blair and Laidlaw at 9/10 when you have players who won't pass and slow everything down outside.
By:
a would say thats best team we can put out.the centre is the problem.wee just hit it up.the thing is jamie roberts does that for wales but runs clever angles ours just run straight.getting the ball mite be the problem on sunday the scots packs done well but this is another level. france are beatable am hoping for lot off rain and wind
By:
Agree with most of the above (once i deciphered it) except about wind & rain as i don't really think that helps scotland all that much & i'm going to the game so fairly mild with a light breeze will do please.
i don't really think it is "another level" from wales in cardiff either, potentially it could be a level down. I know it is a lazy cliche but you genuinely can't be sure what mindset the French will turn up with. |
By:
northanlite i thought Scotland played well in Cardiff and the game was there to win at half time-unfortunately Cusiter came out for the second half still holding his half time brew and that was it...but as you say the same level with a bit of care may well be enough
By:
Of this w/e's 3 favs, I think Scotland could cause the upset here. The Scots have the pack to front up to the French as long as the Scots stay disciplined but the difference between the 2 teams from 10 out in attack is huge, in defence they should be ok but will need to deny the French easy possession.
By:
we about won in cardiff because warburton pulled out and they didnt have a true openside hence rennie on top of philips till sin binnigs and thats the truth .a think its up another level because france could murder us in the scrums
By:
well in the two games so far scotland have had as much ball as they could have hoped for and enough territory too.
the criticism for the blown chances is more than fair although the disallowed tries were most definitely not fair. i've given up trying to figure out what will happen with this mob so just like the teams did in the far off amateur days i will just turn up & hope for the best. |
By:
enjoy the game nortanlite at least robinsons giving the youngsters ago bowt time
By:
oh no, here we go again, another day, another game, another Scottish team as outsiders and another load of hopefully optimistic posts.
You know what happens next ![]() |
By:
not sure about that vis. very very cautiously optimistic at best.
with scotland it is always hope over expectation. |
By:
That is about it with Scotland NL, I expect them to lose, & I hope that they win, I really should put my money with my expectations & not my hope, (its my romantic side that does me), becuase if there is one team that I always seem to lose money on, match after match, its The Flower of Scotland crew!
By:
France have better forwards and backs and will want to win this. Scotland have hame advantage an will gie it everythin but will that be enough? when they dae get a chance they oft havenae got the composure tae tak it. France -6 looks a guid bet tae me.
By:
scotland would have 1/2 a chance if they were not managed by an englishman and a failed one at that. no surprise to see us sitting under england in the table.
a 10 point humping is on the cards , we will have more ball , but f*** all points as he has coached us not to score. i know they say keep your friends close but your enemies closer but the scottish rfu have taken that to the extreme. mugs ![]() |
By:
But we couldn't score before Robinson.
By:
That's irrelevant Ginge - the English are to blame for everything that is wrong in rugby
![]() |
By:
I was going to point that out.
To be honest I don't think Robinson is doing a great job at all, but they chose him for a reason. Must be loads of great Scottish coaches out there twiddling their thumbs. |
By:
i think we know who the next coach is likely to be so just depends how long AR stays on (can't see him being sacked) and there will probably another job for him within the SRU if he wants it.
By:
promised myself i won't bet on scotland games as judgement is always clouded but then i start seeing that scotland are edging towards 100/30 shots which is so tempting at home.
must fight those urges. |
By:
can you please confirm just before KO that you have not bet them as then they are bound to win today
![]() |
By:
Not sure you've got the date right there, RM.
By:
i can confirm only that at this point i have not bet them. i will however be on this train on way to edinburgh for the next hour and a half so plenty time to consider it
By:
You just know you'll have to have a bit on. HT/FT would be my call instead (with saver on HT draw) as I just can't see them coming from behind after 40 to win it.
By:
Scotland COULD win, sometimes they SHOULDA won, more often they WOULDA won.......IF.......
Not this time for me..... so queue the big win today I've missed two already this w/end so this will be the hattrick! |

Ahhhh bon mes amis
On too today's game. Have already passed on the match odds & caps until i/r but have had a dabble on the ol' 1st scoring play as it's France, fair odds in the mid-to-high teens, might have a play in the 1st try odds as well for a alte french try to seal a pen fest game similar to yesterday's game really.....or dont we want to mention that on yet ANOTHER thread... ![]() |
By:
I think Scotland might be heading into trouble here. They look out-gunned in most areas and their backline is baffling in it's balance. Blair and Laidlaw are always going to be at their best putting pace on everything and trying to play loose and free, but Morrison and Lamont are hardly going to compliment that. I also dont trust Hogg at all to get through 80 minutes without any glaring blunders.
Scotland always seem to be able to spring enough surprises to keep them in it though, so France 1-12 for me. |
By:
If we can simply get through this one without any controversy I will be happy.....
By:
By:
Ooops, meant Italy and England ...
By:
Aye 2.5 or thereabouts isn't a bad shout on the 1-12, France normally jus do enough
By:
backing Italy and England ante-post was throwing money away imo
By:
no
By:
eh ?
By:
missed oppo's on other matches this w/end, you'll work it out.
By:
Well if said that first off istead of 'Aye' people might understand, oh for an ignore button ....
By:
around 7/4 dutched on either of the French centres anytime suits me for some try scorer interest. At least there won't be any rain this time.
By:
not a bad bet for a club centre partnership, they should get it together for a 2nd time out.
Betting on a French result away from home is always dodgy but Saint Andre is working on the consistency side so we should see them turn up |
By:
Scotland to make a game of it for first 40 mins for me so dabbling on scot/fra and draw/fra.
