The klown has the whistle, full house at headingley. obviously manly much stronger team on paper but behind leeds a few weeks in run outs (32 point loss to cronulla only pre season game). the way the market is going it looks like sea eagles are gonna be sub 1.65 on the day when liquidity starts to beef up which will be a lay for me personally. really looking forward to matai v watkins in the centres, should be a cracking dual.
From reading the Ozzie press reports it seems Manley are at least taking it half serious which should be more than enough against a team that finished 5th in Super League.

Agreed. Get the feeling these days the Aussies are more serious about the game and the best hope the English team has if it it rains to level things up a bit.
St George won this very much in second gear last year and I feel the Aussies will just have too much class once again.

i fancy leeds with 4.5 and had a bit of leeds with 6.5 also as a bit of cover, this though coming from the man who sits 2nd bottom of the tipping competition and really out of form so far this season

Looks like the general theory is that Manly are the good thing though. Market is looking like one-way traffic.
Quality is certainly a thing Manly have an excess of, but preparation is a massive issue.

It's a rare thing to see a game on TV where one team is simply that short on match practise. Really does add an interesting element to the whole thing.

It's even crept into league Vis, where there is even less of an excuse for it. Absurd to miss touch in this code. May as well just give your opponents some points and save time.

Manly defending is showing their lack of game time. All over the shop. Gave Burrow an age to mess around there, when the simple thing to do would be to close him down.

Someone smashed off the ball, then Burrow swung round by the neck.
When they talk about protecting players and safety being a concern, in no way should anybody believe it.

expected a lot better from the Aussies tonight, but there is no doubt that if you have been watching and betting on this game there has been pleny of opportunity to make some money

I can see why he thought they would score, but cant see how 1.6 was the price to do it at.
Got my week off to a good start, although that happened last week and I ended up completely ruining it!

Manly had some good play but it was mostly emperor's clothes.
The board does not lie here. Leeds deserved. Manly were so under done it was a joke and fair play to those who pointed it out and bet accordingly

Manly had a hell of a lot of play second half, but even then they probably didn't look any more likely to score than Leeds. First half Leeds went in 10pts up for a good reason - they were the better team.

RM ive been saying this for years, in RL the headshot and high tackle is virtually acceptable now and only gets pulled every other time, third man in on the attckers supporting leg and leading with the elbow are all commonplace and unpunished in virtually every game.
its a testament to the toughness of the players that there arent more bad injuries, but i think that its only pure luck that there isnt career ending injuries every year. what i fear will happen is that there will be 3 or 4 bad injuries in a row and only then will there be action taken.
Its a cracking game and a hard game, it really doesnt need these cheap and sly shots from fellow professionals. its time the officials crack down properly on this as what the young players see on tv they will replicate in their own games with disasterous results

Might need to re-watch it later this evening, but my initial thought was that, with maybe one or two more games under their belt, Manly may have been 20+ points better?
Takes nothing away from an exceptional Leeds effort. They deserved to win tonight, I just felt watching it that we are even further behind the NRL.

Nobody said that wouldn't be the case Moaner, Manly are clearly a better team. Not tonight though.
ballaman - you are right, and it's very frustrating to see. It's a tough game, nobody wants to see that toned down, but some of the cheap shots and outright recklessness not getting pulled up is dangerous. Bad injuries can happen to anyone, for any reason, but why tempt fate??
