$4.70 per US gallon x 1.2 = $5.64 per UK Gallon, $5.64 * £0.74 = £4.18 per UK gallon

From a European perspective where it's priced at £8-£11 per gallon it looks incredibly cheap and we dunno what they are moaning about.

The USA has: no widespread public transport, massive gas guzzling cars doing 8-10mpg, daily commutes of 75-200 miles each way are fairly common and the norm for many.

It's trumps massive increase in the cost of daily commute which hitting the middle class hard in their wallet.

£4.18 a gallon? That's cheap as chips. They are so lucky to be living in the golden age.
