People parade their outrage and or demand apologies and compo for all sorts of hurty feely stuff these days.
Much of it is nonsense, from a cartoon of a prophet in france to a picture of a meme on a T shirt in clacton. Slavery has been an aspect of human existence since before the advent of writing. The 'elite' using their wealth and physical/social power to treat other humans as property. Many of the UK 'elites' generational wealth comes from their ancestors treating humans as property. But the UK itself was at the forefront of ending humans as property as a thing, It ought to be getting some credit for that. IMHO, we should be reminding these people demanding an apology, that it was the British people as a whole who fought and died for their freedom. |

Part of the problem is indulging these people which Burnham has now chosen to do.

He can apologise himself, he doesn't speak for me or the vast majority I would think.

No wonder the world is in such a mess when people waste their time going on about what happened hundreds of years ago. Lets focus on the issues of the present day.

Someone should organise a "Not for me Burnham "petition..then perhaps other countrys might stop using the UK as a piggy bank !

What is wrong with acknowledging that many British businessmen, including a couple of British kings, were guilty of slavery?

Will the goverments of these countrys acknowledge the murders of thousands of missionarys and send reperations to their familys..some hopes!

Anyone can read a history book about that if they want. It's nowt to do with people alive today though so why apologise for it. |

Nah your pals in the Middle East and South Asia have these rackets sown up these days. It only ever stopped in these places when the Brits were in charge. |

By:
Burnham just giving a casual 40 mill to the Carribean for nut zero though. The same countries demanding reparations.
Struggles to find money for army training exercises but can find it to give away to other countries for virtue signalling. |
