Healey only has 5/- wiggle room so he's going to have to be creative.

He's still in shock at being banned by betfair forum. He likely needs more time
before he speaks about it in public.

I’m increasing the threshold for Small Business Rate Relief for retail hospitality and leisure businesses from £12,000 to £18,000. That means, for 70,000 more businesses I’m not just cutting their rates, I’m taking them out of paying business rates altogether – meaning half of our shops, restaurants and gyms will now pay no business rates at all.

To pay for this support for our high streets, I am raising taxes on gambling – by increasing Machine Games Duty from 20% to 25% for higher stakes machines, while protecting pubs and seaside arcades. I will carve out adult gaming centres and vape shops from business rate reliefs,

Cash ISA cut SCRAPPED. The limit will stay at £20,000 tax-free for people of all ages. And to make investment more accessible I will work with the sector to form a new  "starter ISA" to make investment more accessible.

Pretty much a nothing budget dodging any big and unpopular decisions while handing out a few pennies to seem generous. You could almost think there is an election coming soon.

Same as last time i think TON.

The forecast economically not great going forward and while it is a 'quiet' budget i do think with businesses he is trying to cushion it with this easy one.

A neutral budget with some candy thrown here and there to try and appease a few. Election coming next year methinks.

Labour have a massive majority, and can wait upto 3 years to call an election.

I can't think of any reason they are likely to call an election in 2027.

The country is bankrupt and the debt is increasing every second , they just juggle the money around , come up with ideas that will cost millions and save people peanuts .

The country is bankrupt because half the money "earnt" is squirreled away to tax havens.

E.G.

30 years ago, someone who worked at woolworths, for every tenner they earnt woolworths also made a tenner (ballpark figures) and both the worker and the employee were taxed.

Today, someone who works at ASDA, for every tenner they earn ASDA also earn a tenner (ballpark figures), Today only the worker is taxed, ASDA don't pay any tax on the tenner they earn.

The country can not thrive if the tax burden is paid by the workers and not also paid by the wealthy businesses.

Simple economics.

This is exactly what Roosevelt said about Churchill/UK from 1939 to 1942.

Who was right, you or Churchill?

The pro Iran lefties on here love us giving our money to other countries for defence whilst we let in Iranian spy’s to cause damage to our airbases rather than spending it on our own military Nanny.

They’re the same people who support demented pally lovers breaking in to our own airbases and causing damage to RAF planes coincidentally enough.
