Badenoch: "Nobody Will pay inheritance tax on their family home"
John Major promised the same 35 years ago in 1991. "Wealth will cascade down the generations" There's nothing the tories can promise that they haven't promised before and failed to deliver. They've promised pretty much everything that the UK wants and or needs before, they've run out of new things to promise. |

No class, no decency, just pure nastiness and vitriol. One of the most hateful politicians ever to lead a political party.

There's a monumental effort from the legacy media to try and make the Tories relevant again. I wonder why that might be. Whilst everyone completely ignores the state facilitated invasion on the south coast, and allowing alleged terrorists out on bail

She might say the right things but she still sits in front of the Lib Dems behind her, 14 years, that's all you need to say.

Badenoch was nominally in charge of getting rid of EU legislation from domestic law, and got rid of nothing. She also demanded higher immigration for alleged students.

The positives about her re that she is not a wet lettuce and stands up for women. But when she played the race card, I couldn't believe it. She's also very sniffy and supercilious about Reform, but then copies their narrative.

Buying votes with promises of tax cuts is one of the main reasons this country is in the mess it’s in.
We had 14 years of that and it was an absolute disaster. Andy Burnham is offering something the Tories can never offer: a vision of a better Britain. |
|
By:
Is the country just meant to wait for three years for that to start ?

|
By:
it'll be over 10 years wait if the (not yet happened) benefits of brexit are anything to go by.

What's Brexit got to do with barnum delivering 'a vision of a better Britain'
He's in power now, so what's he going to deliver now? |

Higher mortgages rates is one, I guess.

The ipaper
The only possible explanation for the speech Kemi Badenoch delivered today is that she suffers from an acute case of political split personality disorder. On the one hand, we have an old-fashioned fiscal conservative who wants the country to live within its means. On the other, we have a half-drunk festival organiser, firing-off multiple rounds of electoral confetti – countless tax cuts and spending commitments, paid for by illusionary savings. The first version of Kemi Badenoch was presumably appalled by the things the second version of Kemi Badenoch was proposing, but she seemed blissfully unaware that this other version of her personality was operating out there on the conference stage. Perhaps somewhere deep inside she was mortified by the words that were coming out her mouth. Or perhaps she simply blacked out whenever the other version spoke, only to awaken blissfully unaware of what she’d just promised. |
