UEFA are root cause, however FAI and politicians have been disgraceful in dealing with situation management. To go and throw players under the bus is disgraceful, ok they are earning very good money but they are just young lads in a bubble obviously having to deal with lots of issues family opinions, possibly clubs who pay them good money. Not great experience within the squad, I wish the bold yin from Creggan was still there, although apparently vote was not significant majority. The head coach was treated disgracefully by FAI. Wouldn’t be surprised if he packed it in. Perhaps common sense could still prevail.
The country’s you listed are not in this competition, Russia are banned. The other countries don’t play in this anyway Am I’m missing something or are you not as shrewd as name suggests?

As rubbish as the Irish team is at the moment you might end up playing in some world wide tournament in the future.
I am simply asking what other teams you wouldn't want to play against?
And you played Qatar earlier this year so I would suggest yes you are missing something.

Context is obviously the issue here, 5 years ago playing Israel would not be a problem. Currently it is a huge problem. The vast majority of the country do not want match to go ahead, the Irish football fans do not want to collobarate with sportswashing their brand as a state, involved in despicable behaviour, I’m sure any decent person would agree. Again going back to context that will happen when they have to play certain nations, they decisions will need to be assessed individually in that status and behaviour of the state they are forced to play. Hope this helps, I wouldn’t say Ireland are rubbish, we just try and compete fairly with whatever resources we have available, we don’t have delusions of grandeur like other countries who usually fail to meet their boasting. Are they rubbish by not fulfilling their hype?

The only question the Irish players need to ask themselves is would they play if the 23,000 children killed in Gaza were Irish?
Let's stop pretending it's not a genocide.

Okay fair enough Malay I understand you want to deal with these sort of games on a case by case basis.
I'm going to stick my neck out though and say that in the next 20 years we will never have a situation where the Irish make a big deal about playing anyone east of or South of Greece.

Agree nobby but these young lads were put in serious bad position by FAI, everyone should go. There is possibly untruths about how much it would cost to not play, but even if is true, 5 years from now maximum it would be recovered but we only have 5 hours to do the correct thing, 5 hours only.

Massacring, slaughter, crimes against humanity, war crimes, definitely ethnic cleansing, take your pick, it isn't 'politics' anyway.
Agree Malay,a bad position for the Irish players, agree with their stance in refusing to shake hands and acknowledging the 74k + committed by the state of Israel.

By the way I don't think the march should be going ahead due to the tensions it may cause , Never the less surely these men in Balaclavas are doing just the same ,a law has been passed regarding face coverings in the UK , these men need to be removed from the Protest

I know plenty about Drumcree , there was a law passed after the south coast PA , NO MASKS at protests seems it only applies to to anti migrant protesters

I don’t really bother about Drumcree thing today. Not sure why they would want to do it, kind of hollow victory, 20 lads with sashes, bowler hats, living in past, I’d have thought community should have laughed at them, but I hasten to add, I don’t live there, so feelings might still be raw, but OO are yesterdays lads.

Giving it the big licks about scoring goals as opposed to going over and doing something and doing something about the country they supposedly care about.
Typical paddystinians.Giving it the big licks about scoring goals as opposed to going over and doing something and doing something about the country they supposedly care about.
You can help them all you want is just that people with half a brain realise that sledge hammering the police or destroying UK air bases isn't going to make Hamas accept a 2 state solution.

arrest and detention has happened to those that tried.
I'm on about when you were crying about the people being remanded for attacking police officers. You were upset at the time because you thought they might die because they were on hunger strike.
Has your position changed about people attacking police officers?

You are getting worse, what are ya on about? You are being simply ridiculous.
You made a statement and a strong one at that to about 'going over and doing something' surely you realise that is not allowed,or do you?

Patience is starting to wear a bit thin, you can't tell me how i can get into Gaza but you say it can be done. You are trying to twist your own narrative to something else because you just haven't an answer. You should be thanking me for highlighting your own arguments flaws.
Great result for the Lads, won't doubt ye!
