Not loony to leave a country that is out to confiscate your wealth is it? There will be hundreds more leaving after the budget. Labour doesn't change. In the 1970s Tony Benn (in opposition at the time) promised to nationalise all farm land without paying a penny for it. Harold Wilson put a restriction of £50 on holiday money for trips abroad and had strong controls on any foreign investments to prevent a flight of capital. Rachael threatened to remove cold weather payments and to tax farmers again but was forced to change direction. Will Burnham double down on that? I doubt whether he knows what a farmer does. Food rationing is not far away.

And now the UAE wealth fund is threatening to cancel its planned £300 billion investment in UK unless Burham overturns the Man City verdict. In most countries the Government could tell the Premier League or its equivalent what to do but not here. And now we have 6% interest on new Government debt. Burnham is in deep trouble already.

Did our millionaire PM benefit from his relationship with these people while he was Mayoring?

City owner apparently said he knew nothing about alleged corrupt activities, reminds me of the doping of horses at Newmarket, one guy took blame and was moved to other position, very good, one guy knew about doping very expensive racehorses
GL if you believe that.

Inward investment can be important to our economy but do the Government debate what the culture differences are? We can accept American or Chinese or Saudi investors but don't be surprised if they insist that their own national laws and modes of behaviour should rule over ours when disputes arise. Few countries believe that our Government can't easily overrule the Premier League.

We didn't have many problems booting China from developing government stuff.

They just pivoted to making cheaper cars instead.

There's still a lot of wealth in UK despite
the crying, so folk want to invest.

These are money making schemes for UAE, if they pass on them then there will be an orderly queue to replace them.

china has been making cheap cars long before that

it was crazy to allow a brutal tyranny into infrastructure in the first place, and it still has a foot in our universities

people do not invest. i know from small business people who have stopped expansion and cannot get any more investment

all because of govt. policy over the last 2 years. a fact you ignore
