Gas prices in the UK are twelve times higher than in the US, and eight times more expensive than the coal-based processes used by Chinese competitors.

How can any UK  company compete with that ?

It's not all doom and gloom, some billionaire is mega quids in with the hundreds, (maybe more) of luxury flats they've built on my local (ex)gas storage, they've even kept the structure that held the enourmous tanks as a memento of times when we stored gas so we could plan ahead and get it much cheaper.

Buy gas from USA would seem to be simplest work around.

He says, or company says, they are looking into it.

Buy a gas well in norf sea and pump yer own gas
cutting out the middle men

Maybe he can sell excess to us brits at a more reasonable price, breaking the monopoly
of privatisation

Yes i'm pretty sure it is Mr SM.

Not sure who "some billionaire" would be though, it's the Berkeley Group (of Grenfell Tower infamy) who developed the site, they did indeed keep the outer structure for heritage reasons, looks ok to me Grin

They have an outside area for residents so they can watch the cricket , i wonder how easy that is to control with maybe some residents suddenly having a load of friends over on test match days and its packed out with strangers .
