We were lucky TON, house prices 40/30 years ago were cheap and not too hard to get on the ladder, now very hard even if a couple working in fair enough jobs. Pensioners have bought or are subsidised with a packege including free travel, heating, the BBC and the rest.Give it to the young

It suits others to say get away from my pension and take it off someone else as well.

In my view the system could be made much better, but as everyone knows, the state pension is political kryptonite.

To this inferred increase specifically, it doesn't even keep pace with the increase in the necessary living costs over the year. And is of course, lower than the increase in other taxpayer funded benefits.
