science, nature, history, some sport, some music, some quizzes, the occasional film.

Of course I don't like all of it because it has to broadcast stuff for all types of british culture.

But if you don't like at least 10% of it's output, then you don't like british culture.

What's your "culture" ton?

What aspect of British culture does the BBC not cover that you think it should?

The BBC never had to advertise how great it was years ago, the programmes spoke for themselves.

They used to boast about not having to rely on advertising to survive, but as there were few other channels and their output was often very good then most people were happy paying the license fee.

Now they have fallen down the pecking order and there is a myriad of channels to choose from. They have given up much of the sport to other providers as they were unwilling to compete financially. Although they still make some decent documentaries and dramas, they are thin on the ground compared to years back. Some of the so called comedies are absolutely awful. Primetime is full of ruddy cooking programmes and other reality rubbish. And to cap it all they have been mired in scandal after scandal.

As such, more and more people are watching less and less of the BBC. An increasing number are now not paying the license fee. So the BBC decides to make a lengthy advert to tell us how great it is (it really means how great it WAS), ridiculously puts out license fee payment reminders during World Cup football matches and now has continuity announcers thanking us all for funding the rubbish they are now showing us. They have woken up too late, they took the viewing public for granted and are now grovelling to try and keep them on side.

They are a shadow of what they used to be.

Spot on, Dixie

Specifically for me, that Naga Munchetti woman in the morning asks questions to guests and interrupts their answers every time, she's so self satisfied with herself
Programmes like Have I Got News, pretend that they are all ad libbing these "funny" answers...all smug with themselves, yet they're all given advance notice of the topics
And the anti right wing bias is demonstrated in most news programmes

You're literally the dumbest poster on here and that's a low bar.

The new advert is a copy of the ad they done in 1986  with John Cleese.

Well as it was you that set it.... Laugh

That advert was actually 1985 you plank, and you are calling others dumb Cry

The thing is that all your "reminder" has done is reinforce what i said previously. the BBC did indeed make loads of decent stuff back then and the short film is full of stars and recognisable faces (unlike the woeful current effort). The comparison is stark, how far the BBC has fallenSad

So a nice own goal by poor little brained bear.

They don't even try and disguise the bias now Reg , look at the coverage of the "Dover protest" last weekend.

They were desperately hoping for some "thuggish behaviour" and the look of disappointment on the faces of a couple of their reporters when they had none to report was quite obvious. So instead they went in search of anybody who may have been slightly "intimidated" by being in the vicinity of a load of balaclava clad blokes Laugh

Of course they found a couple of ladies who had been on a train and felt uncomfortable when a load of these guys got on board, but that was it. Hope these two females never get on a train with a load of footy fans Laugh

And it was the MAIN item on the national news ffs.

I remember back in 2016(?)when the BBC were reporting on the in/out Brexit vote...out was 7/1 on here and the BBC obviously thought Remain was a shoo in...
As events unfolded, I stayed up all night, and as it dawned on the BBC reporters that OUT would win, they were apoplectic

As it happens, I think we should have negotiated a deal to stay in under different terms, ie better terms for the UK...but the frogs and krauts wouldn't have it

Cameron promised us that he would do that Reg , kept on about a "reformed EU" but we all knew it was anything but. So the Leave vote won.

I was loving the sullen look on the BBC faces too as realisation began to dawn. I hadn't planned to stay up as Remain was a 1/10 shot and it looked nailed on earlier in the day but as the results starting coming in i grabbed a bottle of Black Cow vodka and gradually polished off most of it by the time Dimbleby officially announced the result. The cherry on top was that Keith Vaz interview after the announcement was made Laugh

According to Aitken, their woke world view is what's going to finish them off.
I'd agree with that, all their output is tainted, even infested, with that view.

It's not about what it covers, it's how biased the coverage is. You could
watch the Aitken interview, I'd believe someone who worked there for years
over an uninformed clown like you.
