First driverless taxis available for hire in the UK today.
It's a great day for the woke right as they'll soon be calling all those currently working drivers "workshy" when they all become unemployed in 5 or 10 years. |

it is the anti woke profit over people brigade who have engineered this. |

Maybe the future will be nobody works and we all live the life of leisure. Problem with that is keeping yourself occupied for 10 or 12 hours a day 7 days a week. I think mankind will get bored (well most of them) myself.

Not working and everyone getting UBI is a pipe dream. We have no plan for how to survive the emergence of a greater intelligence which will have no incentive to keep us around.

A 70's film for sci-fi fans to check out is 'Colossus The forbin Project', where the USA make a huge computer (AI today) to take over their nuclear weapons system. It links up with an identical one in the USSR (as it was then) and between them they take over the world. I think Terminator got the idea from it. Must have seemed totally impossible at the time but not so much today.

By:
Yes but a bit more light hearted than Colossus, which is one of my favourite Sci-Fi films.
