How many of this current load of single young men arrived under the last Tory government you numpty  In case you hadn't noticed, Labour have been in power for over two years now and between 70 and 80k have arrived by small boats alone in that time. |

Tories promised to reduce immigration to 10,000 then green card Rishi let in 1 million in a single year. Even RFM just promised to increase immigration by removing Labours new obstacles for businesses importing foreign workers to do British jobs. It's Bizarre, but Labour are the only ones keeping their promises to reduce immigration at the moment, all the other parties want to increase it. Who'd have thunk it? |

You simply cannot blame the last government for this one doing what they are in Linton On Ouse. The Tories had the Rwanda deterrent ready to start but Sir Stoma ditched it - big mistake. You know full well that anything the Tories tried to do was hampered/obstructed by the opposition as well as the ECHR. You won't stop them coming unless you send them straight back, but France don't want to know. Adopt that strategy and the sailings stop overnight. But in your usual "non partisan" (do us a favour ) manner you conveniently forget all this. |

They shouldn't have said they were going to stop the boats if they couldn't stop the boats.
ECHR and rwanda are nonsense deflections. According to many, there are terrorists coming over on boats fascilitated by organised criminals. The non terrorist passengers are all paying £5-£10k So first off, declare the route fully closed citing terrorist concerns. . Declare that any passenger on the boat is either a terrorist or a refugee with £5,000 at their disposal so not in immediate danger from what they claim they are fleeing. Declare that to prevent terrorists carrying out acts of terrorism UK will intercept the boats and shoot any person at the helm and treat all occupants as terrorists until they can prove they are not. Start going into the channel and shooting terrorists. Stop deflecting with ECHR and rwanda, stop waffling and take action. |

This whole thing is like the colston statue.
After much outcry the polititians set up a committee to address the issue, after a couple of years that committee set up another sub committee to 'deal with the issue'. After another 5 years of sub committee meetings, they had done absolutely nothing and historical events made them redundant. I say it is time to pull the statue down as per the wishes of the people and the politicians can cry as much as they like about being sacked from their sub committees |
