Horrific.

Looks like a bunch of teenage Irish tinkers have stolen a car and driven down the wrong side of the motorway and crashed in to a family car.

5 dead and 4 in hospital.

the psychology is extraordinary, plenty of people seem to think it's their place to defend the deceased criminals.

I'm reading that the act of driving down the motorway the wrong way has just become a bit of a trend over there.

Garda car rammed by stolen vehicle in south Dublin

An investigation is under way after a Garda patrol car was rammed by a stolen vehicle in the early hours of this morning in Co Dublin.

The incident happened when gardaí on patrol responded to reports of dangerous driving on the M50 near Leopardstown at around 2am.

Gardaí came across the stolen car at Glencairn Drive, The Gallops and signalled for the vehicle to stop.

Yes as Cider says its really worrying , trends like firelighting and the above can catch hold (pardon the allusion ) extremely quickly these days . Prevention will be key .

Anyone wearing a mask or balaclava should be shot on sight, that would help.

Regardless of the whole appalling behaviour and tragic consequences, What were they doing out a 3 am ? They were children they should be in their home sleeping looking forward to a game of sport.
Society is gone, social media has plenty to do with its downwards trajectory.

I learned quite a lot reading about this story. Apparently lots of Irish cops are being prosecuted for chasing criminals. They don't have enough prison places. Kids always getting let off. One of the rumours are that this gang had only been caught recently, and one of them had a dedicated tiktok channel for broadcasting their exploits of driving stolen cars dangerously.

Good riddance to the five of them. Just a pity about their victims.

Absolutely terrible to see the suitcases outside the wreck. Must also have been awful for the emergency responders. One of the perps apparently found on the other side of the motorway.
What's left of the vehicles seem to still be pretty much where they collided, so virtually no dissipation of energy, almost like hitting a wall.

Cider you have read the same as myself regarding joyriding and videos on social media, it’s all very sad if children believe that behaviour is something to be proud of and an achievement.
Anyway I will leave it at there is plenty grief in this horrible situation.
