I was on a packed train when they did the first test a couple of years back. I didn't get the message at all, but alarms were going off spread over 20-30 minutes with some lasting an hour !?, seemingly unable to turn them off.

The governments emergency alert has led to the fire service having to beg people not to clog up the emergency 999 number with phone calls about their neighbours having BBQs.
Couldn't make it up.

It wasn't just a text though was it Nobby ? The alarm was so loud it would have even woke Donny up
No problem with them sending out advisory messages, but an emergency it was not.

Do you think the government will send out an emergency alarm text to us Southerners advising of the imminent threat of rain and to remember to use an umbrella if venturing outside and to wear appropriate attire for the wet conditions ?
