Why would that be his only option saddo? He is protected from prosecution by pre-emptive pardon the slimy weasel. It's actually illegal for him to take the fifth. Under U.S. law, a person generally cannot claim a Fifth Amendment privilege against self-incrimination for actions for which they have already received a full pardon, because they can no longer face criminal prosecution for those actions.
The diaries were on government severs so they were part of the public record. |

Asking the colour of his tie was a legal trap. He said he was taking the fifth because he believed answering questions would expose him to new legal risks. There's no valid reason for someone to take the fifth when they have been pardoned, and it will be impossible for him to justify in court that there was a legal risk in answering about the colour of his tie.

Or what is he charged with thats the point he cant be charged with anything if he has received a pardon the senate committee were frustrated that he pleaded the 5th when he was immune from prosecution so had no need to duck the questions These were legitimate questions about US involvement and funding of the Wuhan Institute of Virology and Fauci's conduct during the outbreak of the pandemic including his own financial enrichment |

If he answers any questions he will be proved a liar. Just one example, he wrote in his diary that he expected
0.2% to 0.3% fatalities. Next day on TV he said he expected 2% to 3% fatalities, hugely adding to the panic. He lied about almost everything. |

He's a slippery weasel. All he had to do was say I can't remember to every question like he did in his 2022 court deposition. In that deposition he said variations of "I do not recall" 174 times and "I don't remember" 212 times. I guess he must have thought that would look too dishonest so he went with the much more honest looking fifth amendment.
