That is the latest rumour. Lefties hoping c ock of the north are going to be extremely disappointed. Mahmood would fit in nicely on the right of the tories.

I'd back her down to 1.5 to stay as home secretary for at least 6 months after (yet another) new PM takes over.

She's making a lot of the right noises and some of the right moves on immigration, and, putting it euphemistically... she's got enough pigmentation to fend off the quiche eaters.

She hasn't stopped the boats, but She's cut immigration, cut the spend on 5* hotels, cut the student dependency asylum seekers and a few other such things heading in the right question.
She's done more than any other home secretary in the last 15-20 years to cut the mass influx of other cultures to UK.

Genuine question:

What's not to like?

Who would you prefer in the the job?

Hasn't she doubled from 5 to 10 years and added a load of "Financial stability" clause to the UK citizenship qualification?

On the flipside, I've just remembered shortly after she got the job she publicly declared her first loyalty was to one of the middle eastern book clubs and I immediately thought FFS WAC.

but hey, as with all politicians, look at what they do, not what they say.

She's more right wing than the Tories, when it comes to immigration. I don't forget that Boris opened the doors to ~4,5 million legal migrants who are non-european. The Tories betrayed the british people who supported them. If her ideas are blocked by her own party Reform is going to win the next general election, and Restore is going to grow big. When people voted for Brexit politicians promised less taxes and less migrants, now we have more taxes, more legal immigrants than ever, more illegal immigration, and economic stagnation.

I'm slightly puzzled why the right wing so hated starmer, given that he should get some credit for mahmoods moves on immigration.

Starmers replacement is pretty much an unknown package, and may be less favourable to the right wing.

Have laid the Rachael ' done by 30/9 ' at 1.02 a while back . Its the most sensitive of the jobs and we all remember Kwasi . Whats not to like about a few months stability and stick the big beasts in the other two flagship posts if you wish .

I laid it at 1.03 a couple of weeks back, Parliament is closing tomorrow for an extended break till September , so I figured it unlikely she is replaced before parliament returns.

Shabana doesn't take shiit from anyone and knows how to get results. She is exactly the person Burnham will need to force through departmental budget cuts.

I think people will be surprised by Burnham. Personally he's not combative. He's more interested in fixing problems than playing the blame game.

Kemi will find it very difficult to lay a glove on him.

It is all just a farce , a load of useless mps constantly swapping job for which none of them have any experience or knowledge of the latest job they have been given .

What's the financial acumen of mahmood?

Why does anyone care what badenoch will/won't find difficult to do?

Can you lay out the results that mahmood has achieved in her career (aside from getting herself promoted) ?

It is already evident what type of pm Andy Crapp is going to be. Hiding their plans, hiding from scrutiny, gaslighting, ably assisted by his champagne socialist pals and legacy media. Let's see, so far he has appeared for soft soap cosy fireside chats with 'adults back in the room' trot Marr, and far left 'refugees are welcome' vinegar lineker. Starmer gas mark II.
