Just came up against a half decent side imo who had previously tonked them 5-2 back in March.

Team were bigly embarrassed, then had to watch
Belgium do the trump jerk off dance when lukaku scored |

It encapsulates the mindset of those with TDS. That something as minor as a football player having a match ban lifted makes front page news in another country, across the legacy media and headline news on legacy broadcasters. It's still gnawing away at them even after the team has been eliminated, and they start threads on betting forums. It demonstrates they really don't minded being trolled (actually enjoy it?), and they will soon lose their collective minds again, over something equally trivial.

No Cider, it was just 'wrong' from Trump and a bad look on fifa and football. It can't be justified.
By:
of course it was wrong. who cares. hardly surprising that the potus would try to use their influence to help the us team when the tourny is being held in the us.

TDS
Loony weirdo lefties constantly snarling, crying and demanding everyone hates and despises this World Cup. But the majority with intelligence, have enjoyed it all. No one cares about the idiot lefties trying to ruin it. Great games, packed stadiums and everyone enjoying themselves. Much to the constant resentment of the lefty media and lefty weirdos. Let it go, get outside and enjoy your life, lefties |
By:
What it isn't is headline news.
A great example of the two tier world we now inhabit, it is hotter now then when we were told to panic about the nice weather a couple of weeks ago. Very few people appear to realise they are being played like fiddles. |
By:
You may not 'care' but it was an abuse of power and there was no 'fairness' to Belgium who rose magnificently to the challenge.
No moral compass here and shouldn't be defended by anyone. |
By:
Why are you exorcised about it. Ireland didn't even make the final 128 teams. As if whether one player participated or not was pivotal to the outcome. It's just unhinged, orange man bad et al.
By:
I'm only replying to your defending this, you seem to think that it is morally right and fair,i don't.
It was headline 'news' until the Straits kicked off again. |
By:
Which part of 'of course it was wrong' do you have trouble comprehending?
Trump is the most powerful man in the world, he likes to wield his influence. The story is worthy of a paragraph on the sports pages, it is not global news. Unless of course, you hate Trump and want everyone else to hate him. |
By:
Do you recall the American who drove on the wring side of the road and killed a lad a motorbike. Trump refused to allow her to be extradited to the UK to face trial. Now that is a far far bigger story, the legacy media hardly touched it. Why is that?
By:
wrong
By:
You are still defending it by trying to minimise it.The rulebook was out the window simply beacause he wanted it, of course it is wrong.
By:
It is minimal. An average player for a poor team had a one match ban rescinded. It did not impact the result, or the course of the world cup. It is anti British as we have (or used to have) a strong sense of fair play. But using influence, even to cheat if necessary is very much part of US culture. Not surprising in the least that he tried it, a bit more surprising that fifa played ball. Global headline news it isn't.

Infantino said he spoke to Trump and it made no difference to anything as has no control over decisions by the disciplinary committee.

No Cider, it was just 'wrong' from Trump and a bad look on fifa and football ........................ Hardly anyone complaining about FIFA though, it's undeniable. It's just the TDS bro's doing their usual thing. ![]() |

By:
Not sure Trumpton interfering in WC has anything to do with left or right wing politics, it’s more a question of the character of individuals involved in this scenario, regarding it being a non story then why did Trump boast about his involvement to his followers ?he obviously thought it was a big story, and one he did a good job in, when world wide football fans were disgusted.
By:
It demonstrates they really don't minded being trolled
How long has Trump been doing it now. And still people fall for it. |

Magaloons: "Everyone who thinks the red card = one match suspension rule should be applied without favour has TDS"
![]() |
By:
Just the people still vexed by it, long after the team is out of the tournament. Hardly on Maradona's level of cheating, was it. A player swerved a suspension and the team still got defeated.
By:
Most football people are appalled by FIFA bowing to Trumpton but root cause was him getting involved.
By:
Because it involved Trump, not because a player skipped a suspension to play for a team that lost the match.
By:
Like yes, you could make an argument if the player made a difference in the result. I don't believe he did.
By:
Not sure about that if competition was in England and King Chuck phoned FIFA to lift a Harry Kane suspension and it was lifted, most football people would be appalled.
I’m willing to be corrected but I don’t think this situation has arisen before. |
By:
It's odd that Trump cultists are trump cultists no matter
how ridiculous it makes them look. Can't just accept that a bit of corruption is wrong Even if it spectacularly backfired |
By:
It's not odd that blinkered TDS sufferers give FIFA a free pass over this corruption.
By:
I don’t know anybody who is giving FIFA a free pass on the contrary they are raging at trumpton lick a ss stuff, did they not give him some weird peace prize thing ? For what ?
By:
I agree that the main villain of this episode is Sycofantino. His obvious toadying is the real story. We all know what Trump is like by now.
By:
Listen people can like Trump but obviously admit he made a mistake. FIFA are obviously an organisation who IMO lack ethical values but we can all agree the tournament has been well organised, entertaining, good crowds and hopefully some good matches coming up.
