I'm delighted for the 2 women,of course they weren't making it up.
That letter he couldn't explain and a very glib 'it was about something else'
He deserves maximum as he never acknowledged his guilt.

The jury didn’t think she was much a Lady, IMO the defence tried tried their best didn’t work, I actually thought it would work. Agreed he’s going to get a serious sentence on the strength of jury verdict. I don’t know if the man and wife are guilty but jury believed they were, it’s all that matters.

Will be interesting to see loyalist reaction Pa, what side the factions take here, I assume press restrictions will be lifted. Nanny thinks hard time, not sure, he has plenty money, some won’t want to believe it because won’t want OO officially shamed, he has powerful friends and he may know things about them. Interesting not being a loyalist I wouldn’t know their stance.

It was allegations made by one guy lapsy, as far as i know unproven.
You have not used the word allegedly so i presume you must have proof ?
Remember Carl Beech ?

I wonder if Trumpton or Musko will have anything to say about this conviction in Newry because they do have quite a lot to say about politics in other countries, even though it’s not really much to do with them.

I'm not aware of the Village magazine making false allegations about me lapsy.
Ergo i cannot sue them.
As far as Enoch goes, to paraphrase Dickens, "Powell had been dead these 28 years".
So he can't sue them either.

FYI Lapsy - a handful of actions taken against your favourite mag, there are others :
The magazine was sued by anti-Lisbon Treaty campaigner Declan Ganley in 2008 but proceedings were settled.[6][7]
In 2010 Village received legal correspondence from Lord Mayor of Dublin, Oisin Quinn, over allegations he should not have voted on high-rise issues in the city, as he had a stake in property that might benefit from changes. In the end, Smith made a successful complaint to the Standards in Public Office Commission (SIPO) which found in 2011 that there had been a minor breach.[8]
In 2016 former Donegal County Council county manager, Michael McLoone, initiated High Court proceedings against Village for defamation after it printed what it claimed was an affidavit opened in court detailing multiple allegations made about planning in County Donegal by former senior county planner, Gerard Convie.[12][non-primary source needed]

None in regarding Enoch though Dixie, a relative few actions to be fair over the years with other matters.
I know a lot of the lads here look up to Enoch but that publications headline of ' Sir Jeffrey Donaldson's mentor was a violent paedophile and a violent racist with deranged views about the lack of intelligence of women'
Have a read and knock yourselves out!

No idea of magazine Pa refers to, but planning in Ireland has always been a bit dodgy, perhaps the magazine identified a few dodgy high profile characters and perhaps got a couple minor issues wrong. Anyway let’s keep thread on topic Donaldson convicted, will he appeal ? Or just should have have pled guilty? And the letters could have showed remorse which would probably have led to lighter sentence? Who knows ?

Lapsy said as far as he was aware this far left rag had never been sued, i quoted a number of times that they had (and there are more). Whether there was any "massive dirt" involved is completely irrelevant, i simply showed that actions had been taken.
Lapsy - i reiterate, Enoch pegged it 28 years ago. Unless he rises from the grave, how can he sue this rag ?

In fairness lads this publication discussion is nothing to do with Donaldson Conviction. The facts are Donaldson is convicted of being serious beast, I wasn’t on jury, but that was decision. The integrity of Donaldson political activities will obviously be questioned now surely, when found guilty of such serious offences. Doesn’t come across as any good

Malay, the magazine shows the ties between Powell and Donaldson.
It isn't a 'crackpot' publication, Irelands biggest political commentor (and barrister) Vincent Browne is stuck in it.
That's all i have to say on that and of course i am glad that justice was done today.

You can only sue in such circumstances (defamation of a deceased person) if your own reputation is trashed by association with the deceased. It's very rare to do so as it can be difficult to prove. Enoch's wife would have been the only person who may have had a case against the mag, but she died in 2017.

You mean like every non Irish news channel, radio station and newspaper are more interested in the resignation of the Prime Minister rather than a DUP perv Malay ?

In fairness Dixie you have posted quite a lot on this thread. I’m not going to research how many times you posted on Starmer.thread. There was wild amount of posts on Sturgeon and SNP lad stealing a camper van of his seriously bad behaviour but not even one per cent a British top level politician, who was by all accounts seriously involved in brexit scam. I think the rape of a child from Senior politician in UK conviction is more important than another dud labour guy taking Over, if you don’t so be it You should stick to football.

I am English Malay. The PM resigning is much bigger news than any other political story.
The Donaldson perv is obviously not going to get as much publicity as the most prominent politician in the country falling on his sword. If you can't see that then maybe it is you who should consider sticking to other subjects.

Does that mean you are more interested in Donaldson than Starmer if you don’t Post on Starmer ? Apologies if I’m getting mixed up, I think it can be easily clarified.

Malay - no i have read both threads but didn't feel the need to add to the Starmer one (yet). We all knew he was going after all.
I have only really posted comments on here ref the unsubstantiated claims about Enoch by a far left Irish rag with an agenda.

In my opinion he was a political figure of influence in UK for long period. The jury have said he was beast for long time. Integrity issues must be questioned in that period and perhaps people who voted for him and his policies might be disappointed with themselves, but certainly not their fault, conned by a suit.

However, with powerful testimonies from the victims in both court cases what was the difference between this and the Michael Jackson trial? As I believe Michael Jackson shouldve been sent down as well.

Apart from Gerry Adams and Ian Paisley I doubt whether many people in England could identify any Irish politician from the last 100 years or more. Now Charles Parnell would have been a totally different matter.

There was nearly 6k posts on Nicola Sturgeon thread on here. If you take Donaldson role in Brexit into account and complexity of Northern Ireland politics, he was probably a more significant figure in UK politics than Sturgeon. But nobody seems interested, I wonder why

A lot in that article.Of course the DUP were looking after their own selfish interests but at what cost today has that been for the UK?

Plenty of Wrong un MPs in the Court Queue ,Starmer's drinking Buddie Norris being one of them, Accusations seem similar to this case . No doubt the lads will be starting a thread on him when his date comes up
I had heard of Donaldson I started a thread about Him Last year .. But most English folks will not have heard of him ,I wouldn't say there are too many folks over the water have heard of Norris
As for 6k posts on Sturgeon hardly surprising look how that all turned out ,Shocking covers it
