Al Carns resigned on Thursday evening, writing to Sir Keir to tell him the government's defence investment plan (DIP) was "neither transformative enough nor sufficiently funded"

Starmer need to be removed NOW , never mind another 6 months to get Burnham in  , Starmer is a complete Disaster ,Labour need to act and Now , He won't Resign  ,He must be removed

I think all the far left on here are now Davey ten names or Burnham boys after only two years of Labour.

So I  doubt you will get many replies.

I've got two thoughts on this.

They come a day after Starmer saying any minister who supports Burnham will be sacked, so this doesn't feel like coincidence. Maybe just pushing their chips in on Burnham early to show super-loyalty and maybe get a plum position.

Secondly, why aren't we hearing anything about what defence spending will be on. We all know the world has changed massively in the last few years and it feels like the age of aircraft carriers and long-range bombers is over. Now we need to be more nimble with smaller craft able to launch multiple drones instead. Maybe more of a focus on defending vital infrastructure such as energy or water. Which is to say, how much would this cost? Cos, all the talk out of Ukraine is that it is a fraction of traditional defence spend, so rather than crying about it not going up to 2.8% maybe a better, more up to date defence strategy would actually cost less than before. But we don't really know cos it just hasn't been discussed.
