How would UK get rid of Royal Family? What would be process ? Because the laws need royal assent, the political parties need to go to the monarch for approval on major decisions.
I think England is stuck with them, Scotland, Wales and the 6 counties could obviously get away from them.

There is no long term future for them anyway, given our fast changing demography.
I imagine they'll be offski with as much cash as possible before they get removed.

Royal family as monarchy could be abolished by act of parliament

No doubt a generous settlement would be negotiated over
royal estates.

Likely there would be a referendum (took civil war first time)


Parliament already altered line of succession by banning
Catholics becoming monarch and skipping many candidates.

Many would never be happy with just removing them as the monarchy and head of state.

They would only be happy if we went full bolshevik and seized all their land and monies.

There is still room for the Royal family. A bit of streamlining might not go amiss.
