What was the purpose of running nine councillors? Nowhere near enough to control the council.

Yet another example that most voters prefer a party that they have never heard of to any of the established ones! Percentage gains are in direct correlation to the length of time the party has existed. You wonder what would happen if Monster Raving Loony managed to attract a couple of "names" to attract attention before the next General Election and they were able to field candidates in every seat.

What makes you say that, sage? People voting for them knew exactly who and what they were voting for. There's a fair chance that those who did vote for them wouldn't have otherwise voted at all. It's around the same topic that has dominated nearly all elections for well over a decade. As the English keep telling the establishment they don't want any more mass immigration, they keep winning the elections but they keep getting two fingers back.

We are literally on the edge now, in my view. If they cheat to nobble the next GE, people will no longer use voting as a path to democracy. Quite understandably.
