Surely any senior politician running for office in the next 12 months or so is gonna look at Mark Carney. He was peripheral in Canada, and the leader of the other party - can't even remember his name now - was massively odds on to win. But that guy was on friendly terms with Trump. Carney came in and was very robust. Elbows up. He stood up to Trump where so many have vacillated.
Since then, politicians have generally continued to vacillate. And it's generally been ok. We know what Trump's like and how you have to coddle him and how his opinion can change day by day. But outburst like this, which deride the brave men and women who died helping America, are going to continue as his acuity fails while his arrogance grows. And come the elections, politicians will be forced to address him. What they think of him, what they would do about him. And I think the lesson with Carney is that the ones who stand up straight and fight back will find favour with voters. |

His often demonstrated stupidity is mystifying/quite astonishing. I’d love to know how he managed not to fight for his country in Vietnam. He would have been in his late teens, early twenties as it came to its full boil. Tens and tens of thousands in that age group died.

No doubt. Wonder if he followed the Canada Trail? Hundreds did. I well remember a Panorama programme about it, which I think can be believed.

What was the Credence song about it?
Anyway, lots of politicians' and rich people's kids were able to dodge the draft. Just needed the right weight of brown envelope to go to the right person. |

Trump might double down and call them suckers and losers.

As if Carney winning in canada was anything to do with Carney. You probably think Starmer won the general election as he was Starmer.
It all occurred due to Trump's trolling. In regard to the OP, it is quite amusing to see the old left wing come out to moan about Trump. And they are deadly quiet about Labour going after veterans from the IR terrorist conflict, and lining up compensation for the terrorists. |

And the Chagos sell away, obviously.

I definitely caught a bit of Carney visiting Trump in the WH. From what I recall, he was bending over just like the rest of the wet wipes.

obviously what Trump has said is total rubbish as usual, and purely to belittle Europe and provoke a reaction.
Even if the soldiers from other NATO nations had actually taken a back foot then who could blame them with the American forces record for friendly fire? over 20 British soldiers killed by Americans during the Iraq wars, the septics think they are all Rambo as usual, just obliterate everything in sight |

Very strong response from Starmer. Excellent leadership.

From Wednesday
MPs have voted to remove a measure providing conditional immunity from prosecutions for Troubles-era crimes from the previous Conservative government's legacy act. |

You know, he could have syphilis. His clearly rapidly declining mental state could be explained by that diagnosis.
|
|
By:
Third or late stage (tertiary syphilis)
Syphilis can go on to cause serious damage to your heart, brain, bones and nervous system, years later. This damage can be life-threatening. You could experience stroke, blindness, heart problems, dementia and loss of co-ordination. It can still be treated at this stage, but it might not be possible to repair damage that has been done. |

Denmark,pro rata,per population,had the 2nd most deaths in Afghanistan.
But hey hoy,it’s you’re own kind of facts and truths that matter in this day and age. |

By:
Test the real reason about Greenland.
Tell trump, you can have the island for defence,to secure USA safety, but Denmark will still mine the minerals and oil. See what happens then. Like all good capitalism, they eat their own once they’ve eaten everything else. They’ve got the Middle East oil,now want NATO’s, Just criminal thug mafias, like Putin. Like Boris and the tories, robbing money from their state is all they care about. Then reign it back if sussed, till the next generation try and rob some more. And Paul dacre and his ilk, fool you into falling for this. |

Camp Shorabak (formerly Camp Bastion) is a former British Military airbase, located northwest of the city of Lashkargah in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The camp was situated in a remote desert area, far from population centres.
|
|
By:
As the largest British overseas base since World War II, it was a massive, 30,000-person "city in the sand" that included a major airport. It was dismantled in 2014 and handed to Afghan forces.
Key details regarding the British base in Afghanistan: Location and Size: Built in 2006, the base was located in the desert of Helmand Province, northwest of Lashkar Gah. It grew to be roughly the size of the UK town of Reading. Role and Infrastructure: It served as the central hub for UK (Operation Herrick) and US military operations. It featured a high-volume airport, a major trauma hospital, and extensive security with a 30ft fence, radar, and watchtowers. Withdrawal and Legacy: In late 2014, the base was dismantled and handed over to the Afghan National Army, renamed Camp Shorabak. Following the withdrawal, the site was largely abandoned and dismantled, with many, but not all, parts falling into disuse. Key Incidents: In September 2012, a significant Taliban attack on the base resulted in the deaths of two US Marines, damaged aircraft, and highlighted security failures. Although Camp Bastion was the main base, other locations like Main Operating Base Lashkar Gah were also significant during the conflict. |

Trump Interested in two things himself and the States , No need to be insulting Troops who fought alongside Americans in Afghanistan , would imagine the yank Troops would say the same
He is having a dig at NATO , no need for insulting troops that have fought in wars .. |
