Betfair have now been forced to issue a statement advising that they have NOT been hacked:

A Betfair spokesman confirmed that "Although many customers have been in touch to complain, The Next-Reform-Leader market is NOT a joke or a mistake, it is actually a genuine market" - he went on to clarify ....

"It's just a very unfortunate coincidence that this market so closely resembles a cross between the 2026 Strictly Come Dancing market and the 2026 I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! market".

He added, "As an organisation, we cannot be held responsible for the quality of the candidates". He also confirmed that in instances where a named candidate appears in all three markets, trebles will be accepted.

Anton Du Beke has declined to comment officially but confirmed (off the record) that Tommy Robinson's Foxtrot is a marvel to behold.

In a shocking turn of events, the "Next Reform Leader" market was thrown into even more turmoil this afternoon.

The 1970's children's TV character Zippy (from Rainbow) was briefly introduced into the Betfair market and immediately backed in to short priced favouritism; seemingly shrewd punters quickly latched on to his higher level of political experience & superior economic track-record, compared to the other candidates.

Fortunately the confusion was short lived, as it wasn't long before Betfair received an angry telephone complaint from the hysterical, orange coloured loudmouth - and then, not long after that initial complaint from Mr Farage; they also heard from Zippy himself.

Zippy explained the mix-up. Revealing that he'd always had a long-standing ambition to perform with the Moscow State Circus - and that his now quite elderly and easily confused agent had got overly excited when seeing and responding to an advert for a job, to Act as a Puppet for the Russian State.

Betfair confirmed that the 18 year old schoolgirl (that nobody has heard of) has now been restored at the head of the market - and that all bets on Zippy have been voided.

Makes you wonder if they won't eventually have to refund bets on some of the other named runners imo.

In another dramatic twist today, The Wizard of OZ ruled himself out of the Reform Leadership market Shocked

The Wiz confirmed that a lot of his close associates (including surviving members of The Lollipop Gang) had been encouraging him to campaign, largely based on the astonishing similarities between himself and the current Reform leader.

Fanatical supporters had been keen to point out that they both share an incredible track-record for the clever use of smoke and mirrors to create illusions of substance and depth where there is none.

Additionally highlighting that, The Wiz had made amassed a small personal fortune from fooling huge numbers of people for a very long time.

But the Wiz confirmed that he had to now face up to the reality of another similarity between the two men; that the curtain going back had revealed him to be just a self-serving charlatan; a power hungry, one-man-show, that had been prepared to go to extraordinary lengths of deceit in a personal bid for lasting fame and glory.

In his statement confirming his intention not to run, the aging Wiz confirmed that although he was very proud of sending Dorothy back to where she came from; beyond that, he was just the same as all the other candidates and didn't have any other credible ideas.

It is thought that the Wizard's most ardent supporters will now switch their allegiance to another one-trick-pony - The Horse of Many Colours; in the belief that he is prepared to say absolutely anything to anybody, if he thinks it might be popular or if it is what they want to hear.

Further market move for the 6th-form schoolgirl Sienna Churcher Shocked

The teenager was already at the head of the market to be Next Reform Leader, based on her years of experience and an unblemished political track-record (in relation to the other candidates).

But last night saw a further significant market move for the schoolgirl; following rumours that she had received the Royal Seal of Approval; a further £2.50 was matched on the little girl hoping to be the next Prime Minister.

Sadly for the punters involved, it turned out to be a misunderstanding, as a spokesman for the Artist Formerly Known As Prince issued a statement:

He confirmed that his client may indeed stated "that he would like to get behind the schoolgirl" - but went on to clarify that in no way were his remarks intended as an endorsement of the teenager's political ambitions.

Churcher herself confirmed that she was completely unaware of the gamble, as it had occurred after her bed-time.

Some good news for Reform (at last!)..in the context of their new slogan: "A Vote for Reform, is a vote to bring back the Failed Tories!"

It's rumoured that Tory Big Beast (lol) Grant Shapps hasn't yet ruled out defecting to Reform.

Shapps, who is probably most famous for chairing James Cleverly's bid to become Conservative Party Leader and then in a botched attempt to manipulate the votes in Cleverley's favour, instead completely scuppered Cleverly's campaignWhoopsBlush. Handing victory on a plate to a rival candidate (Kemi Badenoch), who's leadership bid his disastrous plan was intended to scupper.BlushWhoops

Considering that absolute fiasco, coupled with his inability to count or to manage a spreadsheet, it's thought he could be a valuable addition to Reform as a possible future Chancellor.

Shapps, who was (laughably) handed the title "Right Honourable" for life in 2010, based on his incredible ability to survive so many scandals (despite all of the evidence against him), has an unprecedented and unparalleled level of personal experience in dealing with The Commissioner for Standards; which it's thought could also prove invaluable to Reform.

If he were to join Reform, it has not yet been made clear whether Shapps might just defect in his own (real) name or if he might bring with him Michael Green, Sebastian Fox & Corrine Stockheath. Shapps still denies their existence or any associations with these shady characters but it's rumoured he could be tempted to recognise them if cabinet posts were made available.

Remember: "A Vote for Reform, is a vote to bring back the Failed Tories!"

In terms of Nigel's aspirations to have a Dept of Govt Efficiency (DOGE), this ^could also generate just the kind of headlines and the colossal savings he is looking for:

You simply give cabinet positions to Tommy Robinson, Stephen Yaxley Lennon, Grant Shapps and all his fictional "associates" - that's 6 cabinet posts sorted - obviously Shapps & little Tommy would probably still stiff the taxpayer for at least 6 lots of expenses but you'd only have to pay for 2 chairs!

I see it differently.  A vote for Reform is a vote for reform.  If the political party Reform would put a complete fundamental change in our general election process which eliminated government of the majority by minorities they would instantly get my very experienced vote.  Instantly.  At the moment I am giving it serious consideration and I would hazard a hunch that there are a great many people, at the moment silent, like me in the electorate.  To ridicule Reform is one thing, to underestimate their potency and impact would be a mistake.

I'm not underestimating "them" LH.

But "them" is a plural word - I'm asking, who are "they"?

As per the thread title, beyond Farage, who else is there?

The answer to that (imo) is that "they" are actually pretty much just a "him". A solo artist - a figurehead with just one (very popular but also very one-dimensional) policy.

Everybody else that has emerged to create a "them" (if they're not a failed Tory - which they mostly are) has been decidedly unimpressive and to be frank, a bit grubby - dubious past actions, dubious connections, dubious finances, etc.

Interesting to see if anybody credible or new emerges over the next few years.
