NHS spunks £180bn a year and provides a very average service.

Reduce NHS spending & just focus on a few core services, give everybody a tax cut, boost the economy, cut debt & let people choose to spend on top up health insurance if they want.

If this has been caused by feckless workshy civil servants obstructing a proper brexit there needs to be a full inquiry as a matter of urgency.

Brexit or EU would make very little difference….

NHS would still be expensive and average.

No U.K. politician would dare to reform the health system in any meaningful way.

Fully expect NHS to be OK/average/fine in 20 years time even though spending will increase.
Just spend less on NHS and allow taxpayers to choose their level of health insurance.

Free care for millions of immigrants, if you cant afford insurance you don't get in, like Japan.
No other country gives it away to anyone and everyone.

Even if immigrants work saddo ? I wouldn't have thought illegals would seek NHS help, seems strange thing to do.

Yeah. Make immigrants work. But don't allow them to get anything back for their taxes or to get to decide on who should run the country.

Maybe just call Britain an ISIS caliphate and remove some other awkward human rights while we're at it.

Just cut most services for those aged 21-65 . Reduce tax and allow those people to choose how much health insurance they want.

Tighten eligibility to be for those who have paid in over previous 12 months over previous 3 years. Charge 10% of all stays with an annual cap. We have a bizarre system where somebody in a care home pays for their stay but in a hospital the food & bed is paid out of health budget.

Use savings to reduce tax, to boost economy, use some savings to actually reduce the 100% government debt rather than expecting future generations to pay for the greedy voters who refuse to pay their share. The minority of working age people actually pay enough tax to cover their share of government spending.

If working immigrants were refused NHS treatments if required, you could have the bizarre situation that the people who treated you and you're loved ones were denied the same treatments if they needed them.
That is a very strange position for somebody to take, but there is some serious raving loonys on this forum.

You really are selfish. You actually expect other people to pay for your breast cancer treatment when you are working and can choose how much you want to spend on health insurance.

The NHS already decides which treatments are value for money.

The current plan is to spend more and more on the NHS . We don’t have any economic growth in U.K. yet keep spending more on nhs.

Malay.

Or perhaps immigrant doctors and nurses could have top up insurance taken from their pay in return for reducing tax to grow the economy and reduce debt?

Yep those poor starving consultants with their 7 figure pension pot.

Can you be more specific please. What is most? Cancer? Long term illnesses (eg high blood pressure, diabetes etc)? Physio? Access to a GP when you've got a chest infection?

Or do you just mean all?

Disagree Mexico, immigrant NHS workers should have same rights as somebody born in England.

Should rich people not get free NHS which corresponds with you're second point ? Not sure on that, they already pay heavy tax. If NHS is that bad, ( which I'm not sure it is, it's better than Ireland)
the consultant will probably have private health care as he will have "the inside track"

.......

Why? If you come here to do a job, you or your employer should pay private health insurance.
If the job doesn't pay enough to cover this, then don't come. A lot of low paid workers
are arriving with spouse and kids in tow to do a 20k job.
They need a family house, schools and doctors to cover one job, a drain on the nation.

The NHS is in effect a nationwide insurance scheme. I've paid a small fortune in over the years and only had a gall blader removed. Lucky me!

Exactly Saddo

Those who cheer on the scroungers want more of these foreign workers earning £20k paying f all in taxes yet getting housing, health insurance, education for children.

We spend £180bn on nhs, cut this by 20% and we have some room to cut taxes & start to actually reduce government debt.

Mexico we will agree to disagree, btw I wasn't referring to yourself as raving loony. However I'm sure you CGAF what anybody thinks of you on internet forum, likewise myself.
I think anybody doing same job is entitled to same conditions no matter nationality, immigrant or born in England.

Just my opinion but as long as you are qualified, verified, work the hours requested, don't make mistakes, I can't understand why you wouldn't get same conditions.

I think nurses are very important and UK seem to be struggling in numbers, they are reducing funding for education in this area, so a well qualified professional coming from abroad is good news, IMO, it saves government money, and ultimately protects people struggling with health.

What happens when the poor people can't afford medical treatment, get sick, and lose jobs.

Happening already with dentistry

We will have fit immigrants on free health care and poor people unable to
afford healthcare so unable to work and on benefits.

Rich folk paying no taxes but unable to get staff.

Dystopian world of racist immigrant haters.

Absolutely nothing to do with Brexit, it's red tape which the govt could fix overnight.

"the UK is needlessly duplicating drug testing in clinical trials involving the UK and EU, with extra checks causing potentially deadly delays".
