I have my own opinion on Musk that I haven't really seen anyone else spout yet, so I'm posting it here for kudos/embarrassment in the months to come.
He's basically just sh!t-stirring. What he is doing is showing big European countries how powerful he is and how much trouble he can cause. He doesn't massively believe in the far right. There's never really been evidence of that before six months ago. If anything he would have been described as slightly left of centre, though I'd have him as a sort of Reagan-era Republican. The caveat to this of course is that he might have been radicalised by his own platform while glued to it all night off his tits on ket.
But I think this is basically him showing Germany and the UK that he's a big player and can cause big problems for politicians in the hope that they will bend to his will and his business interests when the time comes. He's a businessmen firstly, middlely and lastly. His whole career has been based on government handouts and subsidies and using his companies' size to leverage better deals. I don't think he's decided to ditch that and go all in with AfD and the BNP.

I can’t see too many progressives in the market for a Tesla tbh, well certainly not that it would be a market decision.

I saw Tesla sales slumped last year, and I think it was mostly in Europe too. Musk has his eye on the Chinese market which is one of the reasons he's battling Republicans who want to smash them with tariffs. I think the Chinese leccy car (BMD or something like that) and the Dacia will be the big market disruptors. Suddenly, normal people can see these cars within their price range.
