We often read postings about somebody having been blocked. I wondered what people think are valid reasons for doing this. I have only ever blocked two posters, and in my view there are only two valid reasons for blocking somebody.

1. They tell you that they are blocking you, as ---you-have-to-laugh--- did to me. If he doesn't read my posts (entirely his prerogative) then why should I read his?

2. They stalk you, and pop up with destructive comments even on threads where they had never posted until you posted. I went through a period of about two months where politicspunter posted after every single post I made, making completely nit-picking personal attack posts which were irrelevant to my posts, and irrelevant to the thread in general.

Apart from these two cases I can see no reason to block anybody. I can also not see any reason to ever report anybody, I have never even considered doing it. Reporting somebody says a lot more about the reporter than the reportee, and marks them out as a pretty pathetic and insecure individual.

Politicspunter blocked me after I did him exactly what he used to do on others.
That is, I hit him every time I saw him post. Which is what he did.

I block trolls, I block others if they never write anything worth reading, or bombard you with questions.
Why read them if they haven't got anything to say, except to pick flies out of those who have got something to say?

There are some very rude people about. I class these inferior.

Whatever you like. It's a free country and your time is precious. Do what you like.

I've blocked a few here and there but curiosity always gets the better of me and I end up reversing it.

Twitter is better, when you block somebody they cant
read what you say unless they log out.and can't reply
to your posts. Pity betfair can't offer that service
and we have to tolerate the trolls.

Some folk pretend to block on here but it's simple
to find out if they really have.

Never blocked anyone; I'd rather know what they are saying, regardless of attitude. I certainly wouldn't block for any of the reasons given so far.

Never blocked never reported and not ever considered it and never will.

There’s nobody I’ll cower from and I’ll take any cnt on with as much fire as required.

Blocking/reporting is weak and for old sensitive women

I don't consider blocking anyone, I enjoy idiots like Crappin and lfc make tools of themselves. The more they post the more foolish they come across and I like to see it.
