Officer stood in front of the car with gun drawn. It's suicidal to move forward in that situation. Still tragic though, I really wish she had complied.

Actually, thinking about it, the cop put himself in harms way by standing in front of the car and this decision led to the tragedy. I think the police need training not to do this. It would be better to let this girl get away rather than 2 people end up dead. She was only a shoplifter, hardly crime of the century. They could have got the license plate and arrested her later at home.

Let me just correct myself: Alleged shoplifter. My apologies.

Its tragic a mother and her Unborn child should have been Killed , but Wtf is the officer doing in front of the car ? But then why is a Pregnant woman not just complying  and Getting out of the car ?

The issue is not whether she shop lifted or not, whether she complied or not, it's the fact the top killed her and her baby when he had so many other easy less consequential options available.

To fooking shoot her in cold blood unarmed says a lot about culture cops and value of life.

It's shocking beyond belief.

Around the lakes ,we shoot cormorants as they land ,if we showed leniency or left them alone ,they would return the next day with their mates ,until the lake was empty.

Plenty of Shop keepers armed and will shoot to kill  , but not the same at Large stores

shopkeepers,its their money.big stores staff on pitance.

Had every chance to Comply , Decided to drive off and hit the Copper , Pregnant woman stealing Alcohol doesn't seem to have the unborn Child's best interests in mind

Shooting a woman when only accused of shoplifting is wrong and does not merit the alleged crime. I think the cops could have followed and arrested her later.

The US is not South Africa or Columbia.

Another alternative could be to lower a mega magnet from a helicopter onto the roof of the alleged shoplifter's car. This way the pursuit would be ended soon after it had begun. QED!

If an American policeman tells you to stop, you don't start negotiating with him.

You either stop or suffer the consequences, it's a simple choice.

They don't want their police officers ignored like they are over here.

Cop Stood in front of car, slapping  bonnet shouting and swearing, draw gun and fired two shots into chest of a young female  driver.

Without knowing what happened before it's hard to say, but that's all footage shows.

No wonder she was trying to get away, reports she was in shop, put some bottles  down and walked out.

Of course that will be lies, and the bottles that have not been reported as being on her possession in car after a week since incident are just a minor missing detail.

They were on call to a "female locked out her car" in "parking lot"

Wonder how she survived the encounter, prob just hot  lucky.

That business of shooting the tyres. I think that's only for the films.
It would be too dangerous to other people shooting at tyres. Especially outside a supermarket.

Which is why the police rarely do it if at all.

It is more dangerous to stick a gun in an open window,it was totally needless.
