Extinction Rebellion activists blacked a motorway in the Hague. Dutch police waited 15 minutes, told them to leave and then blasted them with water cannon. They then arrested 1,500 of them and carted them away.
Why can other countries deal with these hooligans but we can't do anything?
Admittedly the police later said that only 40 would be prosecuted, but they quickly cleared the gobsh!te$ from the motorway and allowed law-abiding citizens to go about their business.

PorP, they are not trying to save the world from extinction. They are spoiling life for thousands of other people, and are having no effect whatsoever. The UK contribute a very minor percentage of world pollution, and are drastically cutting that minor contribution over the next 20-30 years.
If we achieved carbon neutrality tomorrow it would be a drop in the ocean compared to global contribution. The scum are too stupid to realise that there are other countries who are the major players in climate change, we are insignificant minnows. |

Also PorP, the world is at absolutely no risk of extinction for the next 5 billion years or so. Also, mankind is at no risk of extinction caused by climate change. I can only surmise that you don't understand the meaning of the word 'extinction'.

Maybe there are guidelines to not unnecessarily cause injury to civilians, partly in order to not make them double down in their pouting. Are protesters for other causes regularly treated with brass knuckles by UK police if they are not causing any immediate physical harm?

Works well in dictatorships. Remove any decent against ruling power. The drug cartels seem to have it of to a tee. A shame that the suffragette movement weren't destroyed and all women of the world could have been beaten, detained or killed for daring to question the men in power. The police must have been watching the videos from the Netherlands. Another group of eco extremists that make the Schutzstaffel looks like a diverse organisation. Do any of the resident Guardian boys know when their favourite collumists will be writing about the lack of ethnic diveristy of this group primarily active in multi cultural London?
