Given the likely high price of Scottish oil and has its very hard to see how Scotland can possibly afford to see her assets squandered on Tory chums, and freedom clearly beckons.
By:
Oil price has fallen quite a lot in recent months.
By:
Could Scotland afford it's current budget without subsidies from England?
By:
The SNP policy on oil exploration is to oppose any new licences and to close down existing oil fields.
You would think that an Oxford Don would know that. |
By:
The highest tax rates in the UK yet we still need a massive handout from the UK taxpayers to survive.
FREEDUMB is the right call. |
By:
Given the likely high price of ScWhat do you base that on CoT? Lowest price this year currently.

I've yet to see a nationalist, and that includes MSPs and MPs, put forward
a coherent economic case for independence. Even the basic questions like what currency we would use, how would we manage a border with E£ngland and how would we survive without the £15billion subsidy? |

The villager seems happy that anything Scotland imports will be more expensive, cap doff there goodo.

By:
lapsy please get the facts straight before posting.
Liz Truss, just before becoming PM, agreed a fantastic trade deal with the USA for Scotch whisky. I must have missed your posts commenting on that. |
By:
You did, the US likes 'whiskey'
By:
As the deal was done whilst the product was still in Scotland it is whisky.
By:
You didn't get it,whiskey is Irish
By:
Yes I knew that but you obviously didn't get it that in America they refer to Scotch whisky as Scotch Whiskey.
By:
Did they teach you anything at your Dork school?
By:
Not a lot,i can't doff a cap.

I've yet to see a nationalist, and that includes MSPs and MPs, put forward a coherent economic case for independence. That is because you hate Scotland and run her down on every possible occasion. Most Scots are definitely now yearning for freedom from Tory corruption, but you doff your cap and say “ please England can we be dominated by sleazy Tories forever?” Man up and face the truth. Scotland would be far far better off in every way without the slimey Tories robbing us blind, and giving Scottish oil and gas revenues to millionaires in tax bungs. |
By:
CoT inadvertently proving my point. Bless him.
BTW the snp are not Scotland and will never be. |
By:
Agreed. The freedom campaign in Scotland has members from all parties even including the odd Tory.
And the best way to get rid of the SNP, and by far the quickest is for Scotland to get her neck from beneath the sleazy and corrupt Tory jackboot. |
By:
ignored this place for months and you're still banging on about tories??
By:
I think a great percentage of English people would support the idea of an independent Scotland but you blew the referendum.
Plus I also think you need a leader who isn't as divisive as Sturgeon. |
By:
CoT, as do most nationalists, has his head in the sand when it comes to corruption in Holyrood.
By:
The freedom movement could only attract a couple odd dozen to its latest rally.
(For reference it started at 3.00pm) ![]() |
By:
Shy was that taken at 3.50 and not 3.00pm?
By:
If they can't sort out a couple of much-needed ferry boats, what chance of running a newly independent country?
By:
Shy was that taken at 3.50 and not 3.00pm?
God you cant get anything past you lapsy. Jeezus wept. Ask someone with a degree of common sense to explain it to you. |

Asking for the police to get involved. Swinney sweating. |
By:
And Tory lapdogs like a number on here never said a blind word about the huge and massive Tory sleaze and corruption. Not a thing,
And in any event political corruption is not that much to do with Scotland becoming better off and truly free. |
By:
You have this sort of bizarre conflict bula.
One one hand you argue (quite rightly) that the SNP is not Scotland. Then you seem to think that the cause of Scottish freedom is undermined by slating the SNP all the time. The behaviour of any SNP politician at any time does not affect the case for Scotland getting her neck from beneath the odious Tory jackboot. The cause is greater far greater than any politician or any party. Unionists do have a great story to tell. I could make a really strong case for continuation of the Union of Scotland, England and Wales, even including Northern Ireland although the brexit lies have lessened that case. But I NEVER see the case made. Just childish hacks at SNP personalities, and attacks on Scotland, a wonderful country with unlimited potential for greatness and happiness. |
By:
Clearly an independent Scotland would be energy independent and could create a sovereign wealth fund after they nationize there oil fields.
I will need to ask Scottishers will you allow us geordies to come with you? |
By:
Lots of typos in that last post due to my excitement

Would that not be Tony Blair PP?
By:
No, Nicola Sturgeons record at the ballot box both at Holyrood and Westminster is quite incredible and may never be matched.
By:
What is not good is this.
The SNP depend for their electoral power on the unresolved constitutional question. But the power they get they cannot use to affect the constitution. I think Salmond’s government was good. Nicola’s government in Scotland looks tired. But there will be no change until Scotland gets her freedom. |
By:
she failed in everything she wants though. booted out of the eu against her will and not a chance in hell scotland will be independent on her watch
suspect she's very close to being given the elbow by her own side. how much longer can she keep saying it will always be next year and blaming the tories for the SNP's horrendous record in govt ? |
By:
Well in fairness the people of Scotland can compare the performance of the Scottish Government with the Westminster Government.
Compared to the Tory corruption, Scotland is well run. Mind you a pool of fresh diarrhoea would be better at government than the Tories so it’s not saying much. |

The troops aren't happy with Sturgeon (Phil Boswell is an ex snp msp btw) Oh Dear A Week away from SNP Conf & looked at the Agenda? No motions on Independence? None on Currency? There's none on the Central Bank? There's none on rejoining the EU? There is nothing on the Referendum? There's nothing appertaining to the referendum & we are only a year away |
