The First Lady of Ukraine has urged Britons to continue supporting her country despite the cost-of-living crisis impacting millions across the UK.
Olena Zelenska, wife of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, acknowledged the “very painful choices” facing British people, in an interview with the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg.
When asked what her message would be for Britons “desperately worried” about covering their own expenses amid the UK’s cost-of-living crisis, she said: “Well of course I understand the situation is very tough.”
“The prices are going up in Ukraine as well, but in addition our people get killed.
“So when you start counting pennies on your bank account or your pocket, we do the same and count casualties,” she added.
“We hear that energy is getting pricier, that life is getting pricier, but people should understand that that is not coming through the west’s support to Ukraine, but through the actions of Russia,” she told Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg.
“People are facing very painful choices because of the soaring cost of energy, that’s going to make things very tough for people.”
Her comments come after Boris Johnson warned British households will “have to endure the cost-of-living crisis” in order to counter Russia’s “inevitable manipulation of energy prices”.

My conclusions from thinking about it, lux:
1. I find it hella funny the forum's most open ethnonationalist keeps banging on about it.
2. You never know why someone is given avenue names or statues. While the neo-nazi elements in Ukraine certainly will glorify Bandera for being big time uncool, others might see him as a national hero because he was a fighter for the Ukrainian nation. These things can be tricky. You have statues and squares and probably street names of people that did a lot of bad things. The US has those statues too. Russia has started glorifying Stalin again under Putin. Are they doing so because he murdered lots of his own folk or because he won the great war? Probably the latter. Germany and hollywood really like themselves a Stauffenberg. A glorified hero that stood up to Hitler and gave his own life in resistance. What's kindly forgotten is that Stauffenberg was a rampant, convinced Nazi and anti-semite that simply thought Hitler was inadequate at winning the war (or limiting damage).
You know, the entire nazi angle on Ukraine is utterly laughable. An angle the Russians have expanded upon Scholz and Boris and Truss too in the meantime btw.
There was this video spread by the Russians shortly after the war started with roma tied to lamp posts in Lviv some years ago at that point if I remember correctly. That was the big Russian troll machinery proof of Russians being mistreated in the donbass and why the special operation was absolutely needed.
The critical thinker in me wondered: "If the situation is so bad and a daily occurance, why is your only big video on it roma in western ukraine?"
And Russia is either way a bigger cesspit of neo-nazism than anywhere else in Europe and they are also the biggest propaganda and financial supporter of it.

Yeah, it absolutely is a term to simply describe all those that they don't like. It, coincidentally (or not so coincidentally actually?), has a very strong resemblance of when the more free thinking crowd, the kind that will also talk about "supposed wars" in Ukraine or endlessly rant about mainstream media and elites, keeps using the terms socialist/socialism/marxist/marxism for simply everything and everyone they don't like without any respect whatsoever or even most basic knowledge of what those terms mean and describe.
