An interesting conversation with a Pakistani in the local shop yesterday

He said its not the temp its the constant changing temps/climate thats the problem, if its just 36 all the time through summer with the odd decrease and increase but the average is 36 all through summer you just get use it and crack on. But here its 13c peeing down one week, everyone complaining abiut the wet, the mext its high 20s and everyone piles on the beach and gets heat problems because weve not aclimitised to it.

Had a terrible night and woke to 28.9 indoors about an hour ago. Finally opened the doors to see it drop to 28.1 (currently), but not going down quickly. No surprise there as its 23 and sunny outside, but some decent clouds around and a nice breeze coming through. 28 quoted as a high today so will probably keep the place aired now; it needs it.

We can't judge UK record temperatures on its own. For climate change to be recognised then I would have thought that all countries should be showing record temperatures. I haven't checked so I ask those who are more in the know... is this the case?

for most meteorologists they are only really concerned with
fairly short term weather patterns. they are not all
climatologists who look at long term patterns.

the only one i know is employed by the rail network. air lines,
shipping lines, offshore oil & gas industry, local councils all
employ meteorologists. in fact all sorts of industries do.

what they do notice are extremes, and they say they are seeing
more of them. they also have the evidence to back that up.

The current goal is to limit the degree of global warming.

I thought I had read they intend to cut it by two or three degrees, could be wrong.

For that you'd have to actively remove greenhouse gases again, which might be the goal eventually one day a long way down the line, but not for now. CO2 stays up there a ton of years.

For now the target is to limit the emissions and with it the warming to about ~1.5 to ~2 degrees.

In the end the active removal will probably have to happen to even not exceed the set limit in warming though.

Thats just temps theyve taken from places that have it set up, there was a field I ran across yesterday and it was easily over 45 trust me, the sun had been baking on it, it was in open space and surrounded by nothing and elevated to boot, yet they wont give you that as a record will they ffs no it will be a populated area so as to sell the fear

That field is always the hottest point round here when it gets hot, it clears 40 every time if its a “heatwave”
