It would make political sense to stand an anti sleaze candidate. None of the opposition parties are doing well and have no chance and nothing to gain but an anti sleaze candidate will keep the bad news in the news for the Government .

I still cannot believe how badly the Liberals p,shed their hand against Johnson at his impotent best. Should have arranged a vote of no confidence first rather than agreeing to a General Election.

I couldn't believe they would give
away the upper hand, but was
a race to obscurity, via lack
of foresight.

The only way to rid ourselves
of this cabal of crooks is to
find a unity candidate.

If he's a solid ex tory, all well
and good.

people forget now jo swinson was the leader of the lib dems. think you could safely say it was one of the most disastrous campaigns ever run by an alleged major political party

If Labour, LDs & Greens all stood aside to let, say, Rory Stewart run against the Tories in North Shropshire, what would the odds be?
I think I'd still take the Tories at 1.5 or better.

I would love to see Rory Stewart back in Parliament

Labour missing a trick here. Too vain to consider defeating a Tory in a safe seat.

A very talented and honourable politician who would be a tremendous asset to Westminster.

Rory Stewart had it right a year ago.

anti sleaze candidate.

How could anyone stand on that ticket, when the fiddles available are the main reason for wanting to become an MP?

HELP REQUEST
We need residents in the #NorthShropshire constituency for their signature to nominate Howling Laud Hope so that Owen Paterson can be replaced by an OFFICIAL Loony!

Please DM us if you can be one of the 10 signatories that we need to enter the race!

Mike seems to think that the LibDems have a reasonable chance of winning.

Aye, he often does.

Needs to start the bandwagon
and far more chance of lib dems
capturing protest vote.

Tory candidate choice could
be big too. Probably best a well
vetted one...
By:

This looks really tough for the Libdems. A 60% leave seat where they finished with 10% of the vote last time.
By:
politicspunter
When: 07 Nov 21 18:31
Having said that, they clearly have the best by election machine of all parties and a high protest anti corruption vote is likely.

I would vote for Rory Stewart. The man in the white suit might also be up for it.

Labour and the Lib nice but dim really screwed things up when they had Doris by the short and curlies. Should have do 3 h8m with a vote of no confidence first and then if necessary made an anti Tory Scum Pact.

Right now they should both be trying to hold Doris to the fire but they will let ego destroy both of them.

She seems to be after the tory leaver vote that is loyal to the crook. The LibDems and co are after the ones not loyal to the crook.

According to the Sunday Times today, Wendy Chamberlain ( LD chief whip) called Martin Bell on Friday to ask him to be the LD candidate here.

Smart of her if true but to have a chance of winning it needs to be a struggle shootout between an anti sleaze candidate, Tory Scum and of course The Official Monster Raving Looney Party. We will just have to hope that The Monster Raving Looney Party do not split the looney vote.
