As strong as turnout has been in blue areas, red areas looking even higher. Rockingham Co. (Trump +40) now up to 116% of its '17 turnout, w/ three hours left to go. By comparison, Charlottesville (Biden +73) is at only 89% of its '17 turnout.

Dave Wasserman is a bit of cherry picker. Turnout is low in some southern GOP counties it seems. Fairfax is 1/8 of the population and already over 50% turnout.

Yes, the polls were very accurate in this one, Youngkin making steady but consistent progress throughout the campaign after being behind, having all the momentum at the end and exit polls were also spot on.

Having read a bit of this thread  i suggest you right wingers look how often a dem gov has kept the state in the first election cycle after a dem has won the WH. I think they've lost every time, it's what Americans do and is a huge reason why the gop should be nailed on to get a decent maj in the hor next year (they gain at least 6 just by cheating by gerrymandering) and should def take the senate that Trump lost for them. In a normal year they would be expected to get a maj of at least 10, prob 20 in hor so lets see how they do.
I do hope those parents that voted for Youngkin due to his stance on CRT actually take an interest in their kids ed from now on and not believe in the sheet the gop candidates spue, Crt is not taught in 1 high school in the US, elements of it are but the theory isn't part of curriculum and therefore isn't studied anywhere.. I say that but app many schoolkids that had never heard of it are now aware (thanks to the gop) what it is and learn about it online
This elections will almost certainly be a turning point in the bs regard - the gop will ramp it up to to silly proportions now and in a in normal world would come unstuck due to the silliness of it but with the current state of the right in the US who knows? Youngkin accepted Bidens victory and ran an extremely clever campaign focusing on the economy, taxes, areas where he had great expertise. He then focused on education as McAuliffe blundered with gaffe after gaffe. Youngkin retained GOP voters but courting independents and switherers ultimately swung it for him as Bidens approval ratings plummeted.

It's interesting that seemingly Trump didn't try to force the GOP to field a conspiracy theorist candidiate - maybe there is hope for the Republicans yet

The same system with almost all the same people from those counting to those overseeing it ran this election exactly how they ran the last one and all the others (system wise) before that. So why is this result more legitimate? Nothing has been put in place that is vastly different. The Arizona nonsense has claimed it's first top victim with the head of gop and the one with most fingerprints on the fraudit not running for election again which was very much not in her plans.
I genuinely don't know how right wing kooks can look at this result and reconcile that with their claims of fraud - this result would have been much easier to fiddle than the 2020 . I can understand the US loons believing the bs they are spoonfed but I'm really disappointed in the Uk right wing loons supporting such obv disprovable bs.
