My mate is Albanian and earns a fine living as a translator for Albanian criminals in courts and Police stations in Yorks. He can't understand why we have em here either.

Because a larger proportion of them are criminals compared to UK people I would think. We don't seem to mind who we let in tbh, sinking fast.
