Who will be the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, after Boris Johnson?
This market will be settled based on the first official announcement of the next Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
This market will be turned in-play with unmatched bets cancelled at the start of voting on the day of the next general election.
Without wanting to be overly ghoulish there are scenarios where Boris is incapacitated and a new permanent PM is installed BUT the market will not be settled until a PM is in office after the next GE.
Which could be a different person from the actual PM after Boris Johnson.

Maybe that;s the Betfair rules but they are not the rules where I backed Gove and Hunt a couple of days ago.
Caretaker PM doesn't count, but if Boris leaves the post then whoever the Tory party elect is the winner. |

Next Prime Minister Market is a perfectly valid one and clarification of the rules is only right if you have a shilling on it. There were plenty of reasons to speculate we may have a new Prime Minister. The Tories are notorious for stabbing their own leaders in the back. Wait and see when Dorris recovers who will be pushing to get to the front of the queue. It is by no means unusual to have a change in Prime Minister mid term for a variety of reasons. I can think of Callaghan, Major, Brown, May and Dorris himself who became Prime Minister mid term. It is a highly speculative market ideal for gamblers not bankers. The rules of this market if what you quoted are correct are poorly thought out. They may have had problems paying out or keeping people’s money. Someone said the market was closed out of respect but I think that may not be the real reason  |
