We haven't got all day.

There's working class people to rob.
Report lfc1971 February 17, 2020 1:21 PM GMT
Chinese are smart

I’m beginning to admire them more and more
Report peckerdunne February 17, 2020 1:48 PM GMT
You could move there so.

We would miss you but would manage to cope.
Report 1st time poster February 17, 2020 2:08 PM GMT
as we,re building hs2,talking about this bridge I presume we have the engineers/technology to build it, I assume china wont be shipping materials haf way round the world,we,ll have most of them here,
so the only way they can cut down cost/time is working people to the bone around the clock for cherry buttons ,with shoite working conditions and no elf and safety, right up raab,s,[atels, truzz,s street

Young fellow worked part time at our golf club, university student, left to work in China last year.
you have to be able to adapt to the modern world. Britain should look further afield EU is old and failing state

A good trade deal with China more important than the EU
Report lfc1971 February 17, 2020 2:44 PM GMT
I think I might be more at home with the Chinese than the Europeans, certainly some (who shall remain nameless)

maybe I,m turning Chinese.
Report dambuster February 17, 2020 3:35 PM GMT
Maybe i'm turning Japanese, i think i'm turning Japanese , i really think so !
Report Foinavon February 17, 2020 4:09 PM GMT
In case you haven't noticed, China is already shipping stuff around the world. Plenty of Chinese steel needed for these projects and since we won't be able to make our own anymore thanks to project Greta, what's not to like?
Report 1st time poster February 17, 2020 4:21 PM GMT
todays papers unions demanding hs2 is made from uk made steel
Report Foinavon February 17, 2020 4:23 PM GMT
Well they would, wouldn't they?
Report akabula February 17, 2020 10:10 PM GMT
The Scottish Government has come in for criticism for awarding the contract to supply the steel for the Queensferry Crossing to a Chinese firm.

They have history with Scotland.
Report Foinavon February 17, 2020 10:56 PM GMT
Oh dear. Fishy should be insisting on German steel if she wants to stay pally with the EU.
Report Kelly February 18, 2020 1:15 PM GMT
If it is a practical proposition , a bridge as stated would be a great addition to us in Northern Ireland .  Imagine being able to drive across to Scotland in 30 minutes instead of having to endure queues and 2 hour plus sea journey ( expensive betimes ).

Last year 4 of us looked up the cost of travelling Larne to Cairnryan by ferry , car included . Think it was £460 plus return . Via the appropriate website . Further research encouraged us to make   more "enquiries" , cost finished up as £168 .  Strewth .

Makes that Trivago ad on TV look trivial by comparison.
Report telepathic February 18, 2020 1:20 PM GMT
The ignorance of some beggars belief : Foinavon the bridge is BUILT.

: Akabullshit - the steel contract was put out to tender -no BRITISH firm had the manufacturing
capacity to meet the specification of steel required for the bridge.
Report Kelly February 18, 2020 3:21 PM GMT
Assuming you are right , telepathic , does show up reality which is often missing from some posters on here .
Report telepathic February 18, 2020 5:12 PM GMT
Off course I am right Kelly. I only post fact on here not the fictitious nonsense which is posted, only to denigrate the SNP or the Scottish Government.
It is a sad state of affairs when GB cannot compete on price or specification on steel. One of the major industries in GB till Maggie got her hands on it.
Report akabula February 18, 2020 7:36 PM GMT
@Telepathetic.
Foinavon was obviously referring to the proposed bridge over the Irish sea (or North sea if you listen to Blackford)
Where did I say anything different? I merely responded to earlier posters who had mentioned China.
