Farage hit the nail on the head today when he said Boris deal will lead to a campaign to rejoin the EU during the period we have no vote or say and are under the control of the European Court of Justice. We will be mesed about bigtime and the BBC, ITV, CH4 and usual Remainer media will be rubbing our noses in it to make sure that campaign is successful.

We need to leave on No Deal then get a deal that doesnt mean being still under the control of the EU.

Brexit Party fighting for survival imo.  This stunt by Farage is a clear bluff. Both the Brexit Party and the Conservatives know that leavers will be conscious of splitting vote. Most potential Brexit party voters will reluctantly switch to Conservatives to avoid this.

Its a result of stupid electoral system.

Now if we had proportional representation )PR) like most modern countries - you could vote for the Brexit candidate as your number one preference, safe in the knowledge that if he/she didn't make it then the vote would only then transfer to a Conservative still in the running.

This (as far as is practically possible) fully reflects voting preferences and results in having number of seats reflecting percentage of vote.

(As a SNP supporter I don't want to see PR in Scotland as with 40% of votes we'll get 80^ of seatsCoolHappy. But I have to accept it is completely unfair.

Well that's the current state for you

"leave" and "remain" were the two options, there was no "soft brexit" or "hard brexit" or "this type of brexit" options

I've said it many times but within 5 minutes of the result the BBC were running with 'will it be a hard or soft brexit'. I said at the time that was the moment people needed to kick off and burn the place down, but was told to shut up

3 and a half years later and they've created a big long drawn out movie, whereby there's 6 different parties offering their own type of "brexit".

And whilst people are arguing, they are stripping away at your rights

Bexit and the tories are at nearly 50% in the polls but remember there are 5 million labour leave voters.

When the day of reckoning comes I can't see many tory brexiters voting brexit if their constituency is tight.

I would be surprised if Brexit party get 10% in the election and wouldn't be surprised if they took more votes of labour.

Saw a poll for workington by survation

cons 45% +3
labour 34% - 17
Brexit 13% +13
LD 5% -2
Greens 2% +2

This kinds of supports how I am seeing things. Its a labour seat. Brexit are picking up 13% but the cons are winning the seat.

But the poll is suggesting that the brexit vote is impacting on labour more than the tories. Remember in the last election teresa got 42.6% of the vote only 200,00 less votes than Blair in his 97 landslide so a significant proportion of the population voted tory last time.

Labour racked up a huge number of votes last time I just cant see that holding up if brexit stand in the north and midlands they will take a big chunk of labour votes and that will be enough for the tories to win tight seats.

The next stage is for leavers to realise the major parties including the Tories dont really want us to actually ‘Leave Means Leave’ but to BRINO and hope to get away with it to save their party.

Once we see the power the EU still have over us with the deal during the transition we will be bullied into accepting the views of all the ‘wise men’, who are also remoaners, that we should rejoin.

For some reason, Brexit Party followers fail to understand this so are campaigning on a failed policy. Its a backwards philosophy based on an unachievable sense of perfection that makes no sense. Unless the Brexit Party carries a majority the paradox will be voting for the Brexit Party will have the effect of not delivering Brexit.

Interesting from Tebbit on Thatcher -

She would have managed it very differently.

“Throughout her time as Prime Minister, she tried to make it work.

“She did everything she could to steer it away from a bureaucrat business to concentrating on industry and trade and all the rest of it.”

He continued: “But, at the end, she had realised that the European Union wouldn’t work.

“And the famous day in Parliament, she said ‘no, no, no’ was not just a silly woman shouting ‘no, no, no’.

“It was no to three, separate, specific propositions.

“One was that Europe should be governed by a government formed by-election.”

Lord Tebbit added: “That the government would be the Council of Ministers, the European Parliament would be the democratic organ and the Commission would be the executive.

“And then she said to those three ‘no, no, no’. That was her view.

“That was where the break came, and that was when Heseltine, who was just on the make for himself, and the pro-Europeans decided she would have to be brought down.”

Workers rights are enshrined in EU law, meaning there is greater job security.

Freedom of movement, meaning people have the right to work, live and retire in 28 countries.

We're a pretty smally country, but by being in this union we have a great deal of influence on the international stage.

EU funding has benefited many places in the North, Midlands, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - areas that the Conservative government has attempted to ignore.

The Erasmus scheme allows students to study in different countries at a reduced rate, some are even free.

4.Net contributions       was not 8.5 billion pounds ,the last figure released by the European Union was 13 billion ,hence the common figure quoted 1 billion per month ,with gross contribution of 18.5 billion which the EU kindly give us back 5.5 billion ,these will of course go up rapidly as the protectionist regime seeks political union so the 25 net receivers can demand more of the current 3 contributors.
The more successful your economy ,the more you subsidy the bureaucracy and the deeply flawed economies that exist in the EU.

In any case my son is going to postgrad stage and will be getting a loan and help from me for it like most kids. Get your wallet out you tight *rse.

I asked you “how being in the EU impacts your life
so negatively on a daily basis?"   The only one  of the examples I gave that has impacted me directly is the bottom one. My daughter was planning to do a Masters degree in Amsterdam this year but she was informed in January that there was no guarantee that Erasmus funding would be available. Due to that uncertainty, we could not take the financial risk so she decided against it.

Hello Eric, nice to see you.

Glad you’re happy to help your child in his academic studies, we are in the same boat on that one.

However, you’ve not answered how being in the EU impacts on your life so negatively on a daily basis

I have told you the advantages where we are currently at a disadvantage. These all affect my life and more importantly my families lives in the future. I am not going to regurgitate stuff on here i have already discussed at length.

Do you live in Scotland? Have you already had free uni fees for your young un(s)?
