That is not really accurate pa lapsy. The court set out the different limbs of the situation leading to a conclusion that a duration of five weeks is too long and under the new benchmark set by this decision therefore unlawful. They were careful in their judgement and we should be careful in our interpretation of the resulting actions.

Ok,fair enough, nothing honest about the reasons for prorouging in any case.

Clearly, he advised Her Majesty that there was a good reason, hence the reason for her to agree to the request.

Lady Hale didn't feel the need to state the obvious, she has faith in the ability to the public to arrive at the obvious implication of her carefully chosen words.

I believe the telling point was the earlier clarification between recess and prorogation which removed the argument relating to party conferences absorbing some of the parliamentary time which allowed the court to judge the basis of the requested duration. That issue was clearly blurred in the message to Her Majesty.

This judgement had nothing to do with the substance of the Brexit issue as the SC explicitly stated . It had to do with Contitutional procedure -a hugely important matter for any free society.

But we don't know what advice he gave. Just imagine if it advised Boris not to do it. Phillip Lee on Sky stating that he will pursue this issue.
