the Italian government say they have lobbied the president of the European Parliament as no deal would be a disaster for them but was told that Juncker is totally in command and the Parliament are not consulted. The Italian politician also said "why do they want to punish their best customer" (the UK). He also said they would try to get a bilateral agreement with UK. They export twice as much to us as we do to them.
By:
, I had already seen that, but at approx 1.55pm the guy on sky said what I posted AND it was on the bottom of the screen # or was it ? |
By:
The EU will not give way before March 29 but the individual countries worst affected by no deal will be looking for "deals" pretty soon after and I can't imagine they will obey Juncker for long. He is the emperor with no clothes.
By:
Italy are a basket case anyway with no time for the eu presently so a no deal that would damage the EU IN THEIR OPINON ,would be good news long term wouldn't it
By:
Italy will be bankrupt in a year or two anyway because the Euro is ruining their economy. Brexit will just bring it closer.
By:
to get labour mp,s onside may has offered legal certainty over environmental rtegs and workers rights to at least mirror eu rights in the future, does that mean she and the brexiteers are admitting that without labours support, they will be a decline in those workers, enviromental rights
By:
They can easily overturn any agreement struck with Labour after we're out.
I mean when were Labour ever as good as their word? |
By:
that's why labour wont play ball they don't trust may, brexiteers or a vague aspirational document that can mean anything or nothing to anyone and everyone, its the whole point brexiteers promised a deep meaningful outlook of the future relationship, and we,ve got nothing

Labour would have to be mugs to take anything she's offered so far. Her offer to Labour atm is basically vote for me now and you'll get a say further down the line, but otherwise I'm not going to listen to any of your suggestions. You'd have to be a mug to even trust her for this let and out do it. Plus why would Labour vote for anything May wants, that would help the Conservative party, by voting against it brings the Conservative party closer to tearing apart, thus good for the Labour party. Thus unless May buckles to them (and therefore is facilitating a Labour Brexit) they should just send her on her bike.
By:
And Mrs May would be naïve to believe anything that the Labour party says.
By:
Yes, but she kinda needs them, as she isn't passing anything without them.

By:
blackmail is an ugly word , what reprehensible creatures remainers are
By:
Labour are still clinging to the hope of an election before March 29.
By:
It's too late for that but imo it can't be ruled out completely later in the year.
By:
I'm amazed the odds on this haven't gone back to where they were a few weeks ago. No deal seems as unlikely as ever given recent news and what is likely coming up in a series of votes I'd expect May to now lose. Don't really know what's keeping it down.

Sometimes a bit of pain is a good way to focus people.
I don't think Brits realise how lucky they are compared to other nations. Reality checks and a reset might be just the kick up the arris that folks need. So what if jobs are lost and even if there is rationing, it's hardly the end of the world. They should get off their arses and train for another job rather than whining, it's pathetic really. Living overseas for over 10 years and since the referendum it's cost me 20/25% of my monthly transfers, but I still think it's the correct decision. |

Jucel hasn't lived in country for 10years but thinksd it would be ok for people to live on ratins and lose their jobs, another rightwinger with an ideologiocal agenda, living in the past would and will never happen..
By:
Nothing right wing about wanting trade and immigration policies that treat people equally regardless of skin colour and where they were born.
Where do people get the idea that Brexit is right wing? |
By:
Two types of brexiteers those working class that voted mainly on immigration like my mum, have no other ideas of what brexit entails, then the rightwingers that will do anything affluent, houses paid for plenty of capital unaffected by whatever happens age 50+...
They are the ones like jucel who would couldn't care and let people suffer regardless and anything goes, rations, jobs etc right wing ideologies, also reflected on these forums 90% of the posters with same points of views on everything.. |

Rations and Jobs???
On what basis will there be ration books? We have more employment than ever yet everyone says just a vote for Brexit will cause mass unemployment. Remainer types suggest areas will be understaffed because of Brexit.. farming, NHS, hospitality etc etc and yet others scream there will be job losses. Make up your minds. |
By:
Well strictly it could be argued...
farming- not exporting so no need for extra staff NHS- no health tourists so no need for extra staff hospitality- no need for extra staff as businesses will cut down on this type of spending |

Its just strange that people are complaining they will not be able to get staff and they are also worried there will not be enough jobs.

Frankly, the fear of the unknown is the worst part.

whilst all brexiteers are having end of freedom of movement parties this valentines day, migration watch estimate under the tories immigration bill 700,000 a year will be flooding in, so the loons don't want 300,000 coming in because its not under our controil but are perfectly ok with us controlling 700,000 coming in 580,000 of them from outside the EU,IF as people tell us immigration, freedom of movement was number 1 reason for Brexit,we,ll be having a reff to rejoin once we leave, after all some people who voted leave actually believed some migrants would be sent home the week after Brexit ,there going to love 700,000 coming in, 3 times as many from sub continent than Europeans,
