Yeah this lot have no deal all sorted- no question about that, no question at all, their record shows the organised and forward problem solving skills awash in the Tory party.
By:
as jess Philips said in her commons speech theres lots of mp,s filthy rich without one discernable skill between them
By:
No skill is one thing but Grayling has anti-skills- he is a destroyer of skills- he takes things that may not be perfect or maybe even in need of help and........makes a world of sh!t out of them. He could make Messi look like Xhaka !

hs2 52 billion now tipped to be 100 billion plus, but grayling says it will be delivered on time ,in budget,

Contract terminated because an Irish firm who were behind it have pulled out. I am sure that the free market will soon provide any services for which there is a demand. Government interference always makes things worse.
By:
Intervention from the Irish government, by the sounds. No surprise there.
Is this the firm? http://www.asl.ie/ |

The Daily Telegraph said Arklow Shipping, a major Irish shipping firm, withdrew its support from Seaborne "without warning". … but on Saturday, the Department of Transport said that it had become clear that Seaborne "would not reach its contractual requirements", after Arklow Shipping backed out of the deal. It the government) added that its confidence in the viability of the deal with Seaborne was based on Arklow Shipping's backing of the company and the assurances it received from them. |

Thanet council haven't a bob, they can't run Ramsgate.
By:
will seabourne have to pay compensation for breech of contract ?
or will government not have recourse over this shambles? |
By:
It's not being suggested surely, that Grayling with his firm that has no ships and no port is blameless and it's the naughty EU (whatever individual country you choose)that is the problem here ?
By:
It is indeed, the finger is pointed at Ireland(Irish firm),that seems to be enough for some.
Would they as an individual invest in this? Maybe some might. |
By:
Incompetent Grayling still in office; his fiasco performance on the Railways did not finish his cabinet career hope this will. He's wholly incompetent!
By:
shirley seabourne was given contract because they were british?
much was made at time of three firms being awarded contracts, two were eu based, one british..... |
By:
Chris Grayling will either be made a Lord, or will be re-elected with a large majority in Epsom.
Thats how the system works. A corpse with a Blue Rosette would win Epsom, Daily Mail readers scared that a "Marxist" government would get in. |

rees mogg blaming irish government for possible interverence, have brexiteers ever blamed anyone else for bad news before

Fear not, you can rebuild the economy with all fish you will have...

Can't wait for the empathetic Trump to be all 'Deal ? Sure no problem come on and sit on my knee Theresa' he won't take advantage of us---yeah it will be one of the easiest deals eve.....oh wait a minute!
By:
The clown responsible for this was trying to claim it's the EU's fault if we don't get a deal earlier this week
. |
By:
as jess Philips said - lol.
Labour are definitely scraping the bottom of the barrel in their choice of spokespeople they've got in prominent positions. |
By:
Chris Grayling?
Give the bloke a break - he's doing his best. |

Bit more starting to emerge now,
Arklow shipping did have discussions to provide ships It is puzzled and annoyed for being blamed for the cancellation of the contract. A source also said it was never a "backer",had any formal agreement, nor was it a "contract partner". It stepped away from further talks with Seabourne for "commercial reasons". Rees-Mogg should be held accountable for his comments and explain further, dangerous talk and falls far below what is expected as a senior politician. |

brexiteer held accountable for their comments

They’re certainly dredging the bottom of the barrel.

The port of Bristol is getting ready for a boom after a no deal. Ideally placed for imports from Spain, Portugal, South America and USA.

Seriously or just trolling?
Just a bit of sarcasm. |

It always amazes me how ministers flit from one high position to another.
Like Ken Clarke when he was given the job of Chancellor and openly boasted that he knew nothing about economics. Yet history has recorded him as a pretty good Chancellor. If someone at working class level applies for a job even semi-skilled, unless they have experience in that type of work they're seldom successful. Yet MPs stagger from one blunder to another in various positions until they're quietly shuffled out of the way in some minor role where they can't do too much damage, and eventually forgotten. |
By:
I quite agree doc.
A staggering set-up and one I have never understood. To understand, say, the Foreign Office would be the work of a lifetime, not just something you take on because there happens to be a vacancy. We'd be far better off if appointments were made on expertise, not who the PM wants around him/her. |
By:
no there are some professions where you know more than the ‘experts’
politics is one of them |
By:
how do you get experience as a prime minister?
how do you get experience as a minister if your party has been out of power for years such as lib dems in last con libdem govt ? i guess thats why the civil service exists and offers continuity |
By:
people have it back to front , the country produces the politicians , the politicians do not produce the country they merely reflect it
By:
There’s no way round that , in a democracy
By:
That’s why it’s so dangerous to change the people of a country , they might not be like you
By:
look at it this way , there are many people in parliament today who are not , who are not English , who are not Irish , who are not Scottish who are not Welsh , who are not British
That’s a problem right there |
