Another Labour MP sounding like a right wing Tory.

Angry old bloke Williamson on yesterday also fighting for Brexit.

I really think the Labour party is split even more deeply than the Tories.

I presume the Labour party membership are taking note of all Labour MPs falling over themselves to support the Tories.

She sounded pragmatic, this definition of right wing Tory is pretty astounding.https://m.imgur.com/gallery/SjQclIQ
Report differentdrum January 23, 2019 1:37 PM GMT
Brexit is a Tory aspiration and she openly wanted a people's vote kicked off the table. Are you saying that is what Labour party members want? She also doesn't support extending the leave date.

Rather than being pragmatic for me Flint and her like are backing themselves into a corner. What do they do when we get closer to the leave date and there is no accepted deal? If they are true to their word they will have to back a no deal Brexit. Isn't that what the most right wing elements of the Tory party want?

To suggest her ideas on Brexit are anything other than right wing is astounding.

She was hand in hand with the Tory on the programme. Little point in them both appearing. In fact today's programme was littered with Brexit sympathisers. I often think Coburn slants the programme in that direction anyway. Just to add balance I look forward to hearing from 4 remainers tomorrow.

Brevity is not a Tory aspiration ,it is the result of a referendum helps a couple of years back, did you miss it?    70% of Conservative constituencies and 60% of Labour constituencies voted to Leave in the EU referendum.
Report flushgordon1 January 23, 2019 1:46 PM GMT
Labour party members are approximately ,350000 with many leaving in the past year ,17.4 million people voted to leave with 64% of seats in Great Britain voting Leave. (This is likely due to the uneven distribution of Remain voters, who tended to cluster in large cities, while Leave voters were more evenly spread.)

Juan Kerr, The figure below shows the proportions voting remain and leave within different religious groups. Some groups showed an even split between the two options on the ballot (Methodists and Baptists) and some showed a slight preference for one side or the other (Catholics and Church of Scotland / Presbyterian for remain; Jews and other Christian for leave); but more distinct voting patterns are also evident. Those who identify themselves as Anglican or Church of England were clearly in the leave camp – 60% backed Britain leaving the EU and 40% supported staying. Muslims were clearly in the remain camp, with 69% choosing this option and 31% in favour of leaving the EU. Those with no religion (a group with a younger age profile) were in the ‘remain camp’, by 57% to 43%, as were those belonging to other non-Christian faiths (55% to 45%) and those wh o preferred not to disclose their religious affiliation (55% to 45%).

Now it is all about trading/insurance and of course out right bets (at the right time) research,  discipline, watching the games of course (and trading in play)  sometimes greening out when you see a 'come back'  etc etc etc   take a loss when you think you have to (rather than lose your hole steak) he he    -   and carry on with your system if it works.

Without going through all the arguments again she doesn't know for certain what people want now and that is more important than what they wanted three years ago. I am sure MPs are capable of hiding contact from their constituents which doesn't support their arguments. If an MP is in a leave constituency and they believe that Brexit will be harmful to their constituents then their duty is not to simply rubber stamp it. If Flint & Co genuinely voted remain then clearly she is voting for something she doesn't think is a good idea. That doesn't come across at all.

As regards the party the opposition is there to oppose, not to aid the government, particularly in a right-wing aspiration. If you are instructed then there is no excuse. Failure to do so (either by voting against or abstaining) should result in more just than a ticking off. If they defy the leadership again the likes of Onn, De Piero and their fellow Brexit lovers should be packing their bags.
Report lfc1971 February 13, 2019 10:06 AM GMT

Report differentdrum February 13, 2019 3:32 PM GMT

Flint has gone from voting remain to being the staunchest of Brexit supporters. For me a degree of that decision is about putting herself back in the limelight.
Report treetop February 13, 2019 7:29 PM GMT
If Flint has decided to change her opinion after months of endless debating and talking she is entitled to. To suggest that the opposition has to ALWAYS vote against the Government line is ludicrous. We ask for intelligence in Westminster then expect them to behave like sheep ? This issue, more than most, should be decided on a free vote with Labour,SNP,Libs as well as toriess all voting on what they think is right rather than party whips instructions.

The point I was making was about not supporting Labour policy. The members and many in the party know that once Corbyn's token gesture was quickly bounced back they should have moved to support a second referendum as realistically nothing else is on the table.
